Very very true. Spark eroded it out, then managed to drill out the snapped hose Union on a jig borer, without ruining the original threads. Cleaned them up with a tap. I've now got a spare M10 fine thread insert kit as luckily not needed.
After having performed most mechanical tasks on these cars, I will say that the one I enjoy the least is anyone that implies messing with engine oil. Can't stand any more of it on my fingers.
I used to think that replacing the turbo was the worst job until I did it enough times to be able to do it in one day. The last time, a friend drove in at 8 in the morning and the engine was running again at 10 in the evening. Took my body a few days to recover from the effort, though... [8|] Working on mid height ramps or with a 2 post lift can turn any supposedly painful job "nearly" pleasant, at least when all the tooling is there in the first place. Working without quality tools can be a pain in the back for even the most simple job.
With a 2 post lift and absolutely all the righ tools, we replaced with two friends a turbo engine in 3 days. Drove in on Thursday evening, drove out on Sunday evening, and if the hangover on Sunday morning did slow us down we still felt rather satisfied with the performance []
