Wheel options

Hi,

well I finally got the car back last weekend from the garage after parting with a massive £2,400 for a service and several other things including calipers/ brake lines/ fuels lines/ cam & balance belts, rollers, water pump, temp sensors, power steering pump leak fix... the list goes on!

On the upside there is a world of difference in driving the car and its running really rather nicely now :)

Real reason for the post though is this.... the car currently has 15" teledials on it but I recently picked up a set of Design 90s (from another member on here actually) that I want to replace them with... Question is though... what colour... and I have three options (the car is Alpine White)

1) Put them straight on (they're silver and in pretty good condition)
2) Get them painted black with silver rims and coloured crest centre caps and add a black Porsche side logo
3) Get them painted red with silver rims and coloured crest centre caps and add a red Porsche side log

Option 3 would be sort of like 911 GT3 RS colour scheme I guess.....

I think option 2 would work well due to other black details like the door handles and spoiler etc and is the more conservative approach but 3 could still look nice.... what do you think??

Is anyone on here a dab hand at photoshop and can produce some mock ups by any chance?

2 or 3 IMHO. I love the satin black centre finish with silver edging but then I change my mind a lot so it could be just a fad.

3 looks ok if you're brave although some might interpret it as cliche (you'd potentially feel really daft running into a real RS at a meet). There was a white S2 made up like this a while ago floating around on eBay, it even had red scripting along the sides....

Anything but Silver! [:D]
I like black or other dark colours on white cars, but body coloured ones can also work a treat [;)]

Definitely silver! [:D]

I know that other colours can look good (and Paul Smith has some delicious black D90's), but I think that coloured wheels are a bit of a fad, and strongly believe in the maxim "Keep it original-looking".

Oli.

Hi Hamza, hope I've guessed right and you've got an S2!? By the way, as I can't really offer much in the way of technical advise to others on this forum, if anyone else wants an imgae knocking up just let me know...

Nope its a Lux actually but those pics are great so thanks!!

After seeing those I think the red doesn't quite look right not sure if its the wheels or the car but it doesnt quite seem to work... so black it is then :)

(and yes I would feel a bit silly if I ended up meet a real GT3 RS so thats another reason not to go for the red :)

Gloss black with coloured crests in the middle would look really current, paint the whole wheel.

Hamza, if it were me, I'd either get 16" Fuchs (which look the dog's nads and tend to be the envy of turbo/S2 owners 'cos they don't fit), or some 16" teledials (nice deep dish).

Get some 17" Cup 2s and paint them red (like a 968 CS) and that would look great with the white body IMHO [:D]

Like this, but in red...[:D]

White is great as long as you dont mind cleaning the brake dust off all the time. Here's my gratuitous white wheel pic [:)]

Definately the white on white. The white on black just looks like you've got dirty wheels and the white on red looks great on a £100k GT3RS but not as good on a 944.

not sure but i dont think those are 16inch wheels... look the same as the 15s on my car....

You're welcome to buy my teledial wheels off me if you like! they're in pretty good condition too :)

Has anyone ever put teledials to a 944 s2?
All cars later than '87 require a different offset on the wheels so THOSE teledials wont fit.

I seem to recall that there were teledials available with a suitable offset but they're not dished the same, the centre of the wheel (dial bit) sticks out instead of being set back, which to me looks very, very wrong.

My favourite teledialials are like the ones on the 86 Lux that are flatter and don't stick out so much, very cool wheel design,my nephews saw an old video of my Lux and they were really impressed with my "lamborghini wheels"[:D]
