When and How Much?

My X5 Diesel is due for change and the kind fellows at BMW are quoting me 20 months wait !!!.
I have been thinking of possibly a Cayenne "S" tiptronic with a few extras.
Since I have not even visited the showroom yet, can you guys give me some idea as to how long the lead time will be from order and what level of discount can I expect?
Have any of you bought well, from outside the OPC's?

Any suggestions appreciated.
