I don't know. There's sticks and sticks. Where I now spend half my life Terry the Tangerine Truck is probably quicker from A to B than Beaky (because he is easier to manoeuvre into passing places). He is less incongruous, and more inclined to make people move rather than have them sit there and let me do all the work. I can also see further ahead and thereby better decide which passing place to choose. And finally, grass verges hold no fear what so ever. It's all a case of having the correct tools for the job.

It is but I'm 50 miles from London and 20 from Cambridge, plus there's miles of decent driving/riding/cycling roads on my doorstep. We moved out of London when I was a kid. I'd hate to live there now.
