Which Alloy wheels fit direct?

Forgot to add that the 16" cups I have are the 968 ones which look like a thinner spoked version of cup 1, you don't see many 944 with these on as Rick pointed out on saturday as he had never seen these wheels before on a 944. AFIAK there was 2 further designs of 16" 'cup' wheel often seen on 964 / 993 that look totally different, and to my eyes not very nice since they are too fusy.

It was a tongue in cheek way of saying that to my eye the 16" cups look a lot more than 1" smaller than the 17" ones - nothing more than that. To my knowledge there is only one 16" Cup and the 964 ones were the same. The 993 16" wheels were different and to be honest I don't know what they are called.

There are only a few parameters with wheels - do they fit being primary and next to that their weight, which makes little difference to many. After that it's all down to aesthetics and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I prefer D90s to 16" Cups by some considerable margin, one that spans the spectrum from like to dislike in fact. I also don't much like red cars - others have the opposite view and that's what makes life the interesting tapestry it is.

I'm outspoken on here and sometimes rub people up the wrong way - don't take it personally. I just like to stir things up as a forum where everyone just loves everything that everyone else says or does or owns is not an interesting place to be. I'm big and ugly enough to take as good as I give also, which I think is essential.

Fen I know you more then well enough not to take what you say personally, and I have to say you always give top dollar entertainment. My next door neighboor a couple of years back hated my change in wheels. His opinion was that I should have got the D90's polished or chromed to look all gangsta! I guess in the end more then anything I got fed up cleaning the D90's.

I have 5mm spacers on the front with my 996 wheels, mainly because they don't fit without them, they foul the centre bearing area, 3mm might have done it though,

Sorry another question on an old subject.

I have a 91 S2 so the offsets are 50ish - the exact number is not important for the question thats coming.

I see quite a lot of wheels for sale on ebay that are for 944's with offsets of 15 and 23 and assume these would fit onto an older car such as a Lux.

In terms of using spacers though can someone confirm I have got the idea right in my head. A Lux could take S2 wheels but would need spacers to take up the extra "room" from the different offsets eg 15mm compared to 52mm but I also assume it could not work the other way, that an S2 could not take wheels with the lower offset because there is not enough "room".

Am I right?

Nice photo's. I actually like the 'TSW's but I've not heard of them. They actually look very like one of the factory choices for the Cayman 'S' which as far as I know don't fit our cars so this looks a very good alternative. Any ideas as what sizes they come in or where to get them and costs?

At least in Europe those TSW's are available from most wheel stores. There is also a black spoke version, which looks a little like Fuchs wheel. Those TSW's are very light. If i remember correctly front wheel is 8"x18" and rear one is 9,5"x18". Don't remeber ET, but they fit to late ET 944's just fine. Price is very good, 600-700€/set. We use them usually with track tires

Yes they're very nice but do they fit our cars for sure with retaining the centre cap? So that's 660 pounds each without tax? OUCH! That's very expensive though. I can get custom made lightened Simmons race wheels for less than 2k pounds a set and that's perfect offset, inc. tax, although they don't look as good. Drats
EDIT: I'm confused now. Having looked at the Porscheshop link there are wheels shown with a price for a set of 4 and some don't say anything about quantities. Are the ones posted priced each or for a set?
Sorry for the confusion.[&:]

Olli, are you sure on that price? Because as expensive as they are in the Porscheshop link posted by Neil, they seem incredibly cheap at 700 Euro's. Maybe not the same brand? Any link to a shop that exports them for anywhere near that price would be much appreciated.[:D] I would have thought 6-700 each maybe?

I think that Porscheshop price is for a set of 4, but I agree that some shopping around would probably get them cheaper. Their website is not the best but given how much they sell Mille Miglia type cup clones for, the price must be for 4 wheels IMHO.

Yes i am sure of the TSW wheel price. We have bought two chromed sets and one black spoke set. The Finnish importer is a friends friend, so we got those wheels for special price.

Here's pictures of those Victor Equipment Lemans wheels also listed on Porscheshop UK's web site under my friend's car. I had a similar chromed set, but never installed it. Our Victors were the first sets in Europe.
I got a set of Chromed Lemans for 800€. Seems to me the UK price are a little bit higher.

Those TSW's are very light.

It's a shame the TSW website doesn't list the wheel weight in the specification section [:(] it would be really interesting to know as a lot of aftermarket 18" wheels can be quite a few kilos heavier then Porsche wheels
