Whitby Run - Sunday 13th April 2008

Hi Ian

Already included you for lunch at Trenchers

Parking now confirmed by the Council today - please have plenty of change for meter, if necessary!

Regards
Rita & John

Sorry, John but domestic commitments mean that we won't be able to make the run tomorrow. No need to change the numbers for Trenchers as we hadn't booked a meal.

Have a good day!

Ian and Sharon

Hi everyone, some of you may remember me from Monk Fryston meets and runs out a couple of years ago when I had a Gemballa bodied 928 S4 (the one with the extravagant 4 exhausts on the nearside).

I am the new salesman at Malton, started recently. I've been getting things ready for tomorrow, everything is ready for you, plenty of prize draw tickets at the ready and plenty of lovely stuff to have a look at.

John and I look forward to welcoming you all tomorrow morning.

Oh and to echo the other thread keep an eye out on the A64, plenty of police about at the moment.

Don't be put off by the weather - sun is coming up over the sea here in Scarborough - just spoken to a friend at Harewood Hillclimb - pouring down won't get his car out of the trailer!

Hope to see you all at Malton from 10.30 onwards

Rita & John

In that case I am out of faviour with someone! They have dumped a deluge on us since 7.30, but we shall be coming over to the more popular side of the county, and we have a date with sand castles. Lets hope it we don't bring his wrath with us.

See you in an hour or so.

Hi John & Rita

Many thanks for organising the day out--a tremendous turnout of 24 cars--despite the intermittent horrible weather.

Thanks again

Steve & Ruth[8D]

Glad you had a good day. John has already e-mailed me some photos. Does anyone else have any?

Also, would anyone like to write a couple of paragraphs on the run for the next Porsche Post? (Don't all shout at once!).

Thankyou John and Rita. we had a grand day out. A private viewing of some very fine cars (how often do you get to stroke a half a million quid RSR?), a fine road over the North York moors, excellent fish and chips and a good dose of sea air [:)]
We had great company for lunch, the family who had just picked up the new GT3 RS, sorry, we were introduced but I can`t remember names (if you see this guys, please remind me of your names.. sorry [8|])

The only problem we had was that the Fortune kipper shop was closed.... but you can`t have everything [:D]

Thanks again, Mike and Hayley.

Thanks John and Rita for a cracking day out. Clocked 290 miles from door to door so the 944 had a good run.
Will start saving up for the fish & chips next year.[:)]

Good variety of P cars both on the run and at Specialist Cars - thanks John for your hospitality.

Cheers,

If anyone knows how to put photos on the forum, we will email them to you - its beyond us.

Thanks for your kind comments - were happy to organise the event - pity about the weather but the sun did eventually shine when we arrived in Whitby. Sorry that a more scenic route wasn't taken but at times you were unable to see the tops of the hills.

Once again our thanks to John and his staff at Specialist Cars for providing refreshments for the members.

Regards
Rita & John
