Ocean? Oliver? One word -b0ll0cks.....[;)]

Drive a GT3 and a 993RS back to back and then tell me what you think.....

[:D] I DID! And I bought the GT3! 993RS GREAT car... but didn't meet my expectations. Slightly overhyped?! [dons the nomex]
No joking. That is the first time I have ever heard such a comment. I have heard too raw, I have heard I like my modern comforts but never that its overhyped. Each to their own, I guess.

I am very gratefull for the offer of a ride on the track, but I have to admit I am a terible passenger, even though I navigate on tarmac rallies. At least there I have some control over where we go and how fast. I will probably not do many track days, the car wil be used for superbike type blasts aound the lanes and the occasional foray into Europe.

That said I will see if I can get up to Oulton Park on March 18th (its a lomg way from Sussex).

Vic tells me I have to have a 993 RS, "last of the aircooled cars, seat of the pants etc." I have driven many early 911s, but only a couple of later cars, 964, 993 Cab, 996 C2 and a GT3 Mk 2 (which I fell in love with) but never a 993RS. I want a car that will give me the raw experience, but being of advancing years (though less than Vic [;)]) would want a smoother ride than a 964RS and A/C for the trips across France. Who is prepared to give me a taste of this rare car?

Only God is older than Vic [:D]

Overhyped HMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Nic ,if you want a supebike like feel for the lanes try my hillclimb 993rs special. Not so good for the track, but awsome on the twisty bits, now where was that gt3 that was in my rear view mirror!!!!!!!![:D]
I would still say a well set up early car would give the later cars something to think about,i drove my 1971st up prescott for the first time last year, after many years competing their, and the st went around the corners better than my 993rs,it just needs the grunt out of the corners of the 993.
But then again i drove a carrera gt for the first time on thursday last, what a car![:)]

Yes tim watch this space, dont know when yet!
They have still got some more to fall i fear, also the car was supposed to be one owner and no repairs, turns out to be 2 owners, door damaged by the chaufer, owner does not know about it!So no good!
Tim have you got tyres sorted,i have a set of inters for a gt3,a bit harder now than when new ,but will do 3 or 4 track days.£50 each. The tread depth is nearly as new.

I got a ride in Vic's Bluto today around a very cold Goodwood. It has awesome brakes, definitely the most outstanding feature of the car from the passenger seat. The colour is pretty loud too.

I also got a ride in PMJT's old RHD 993RS, very smoooth and a lovely noise, but I think Philip was treating it fairly gently.
