Whole body respray

ORIGINAL: Fen
I was going to suggest coloured side decal as I really like that look, especially on white.

Here is a nice example.

As Fen says all 924 944 & 968s should be Alpine White from the factory.

Special bulbs are not required for the coloured lenses, IIRC BMW fittment bulbs are a higher wattage so brighter.

I am thinking of getting one of those Porsche crest side decals for my 944 cab which I think it may freshen uo the look a bit. I have found a few and would like to hear what you guys think - I personally like the one on the right.

I think that the black and white one could look quite good once actually in place, the colour ones run the risk of looking tacky on a white car but they might look good? Not sure?!

Ben,

The mono-colour one (the black and white one in the middle) can also be have in red, silver etc.
I have been thinking go subtle i.e. silver and not to attract too much attention? Or should I care?

Charles

Black or silver would be my suggestion also, but then I don't even like coloured wheel centres (although I have them on my 911 for now).

Have you considered Pearl White, which is a Porsche colour (LOA9) but has the benefit of being quite rare. You may also get away with not respraying the door slams, engine bay, etc. This isn't the best picture but gives an idea:-

Neil,
Is this a peralucent white - I thought Porsche only does two white: Alpine White and GP White. Do you have the Porsche paint code?

BTW guys,
Thanks for the advice on the side decals. I have decided to go subtle and ordered the silver crest one. Will post a photo once they are applied.

Charles

Yes it's a pearlescent. He's already given you the code LOA9 [:D]

The Porsche name for it is Perlglanzweiss and it was available from 84-87
