She sould be joined over the lead up to xmas by another 944 turbo with a 3225 engine and a 968 3.0 turbo, all hopefully resisting the temptation to use full power until the running in process is complete.

There's always someone to steal my thunder just when I'm ready for a big announcement. Anyway, the good news is that as long as Jon and Simon don't find any problems during roadtesting this week, I'll be picking up LIL on Saturday [][][]
Anyone want to give me a lift down there? Apparently Saturdays are for Christmas shopping [&:][&:][&:]
Anyway I'll settle for definitely being at Cornbusry on Sunday if you are going to take LIL to put some running in miles on it?
If you get it tomorrow is there any chance it will be run in and ready for a sedate shoeing round Silverstone on the 10th?

We had a brown trouser moment yesterday, the clutch release bearing decided to go west due to a manufacturing fault, which for a moment we thought was something much more serious.... But this morning the last parts are going back on the car following a complete clutch removal and refitting proceedure and being MOT tested this afternoon.
Its not been such a big issue, as its what the initial 200 mile running in that we do personally is for, so we suffer from brown trousers so the customer does not have to deal with the laundry bill and being stranded.
So... everyone keep your fingers crossed for LIL...

Tony's T-shirt and laundry analogy was a good one, but now it's creeping into every thread....

1000 Miles of running in... I would prefer it if it was run in very carefully, there are strict instructions that come with the engine... in no part of the instructions does it mention getting the car sideways at 70mph with the engine bouncing off the rev limiter.

No mention you say???? So it doesn't say anywhere that it can't be driven in this mannor? [][]
Don't worry Paul, I can't promise I'll drive slowly but I can promise I will drive sensibly with you in the car.

So now its on with the pre running in and shakedown testing in the morning, and oil and filter change and then over to Paul to run the engine in for another 1000 to 1500 miles prior to having the car setup on a dyno with final mapping.
All very exciting stuff...
