Will this fit?

I attached a picture. You need to click on the link. Its an aftermarket holder for drinks, sunglasses and the like. I have managed to spill 2 drinks on me and am now reorting to not buying cans, only bottles with screw tops

Sorry guys but I am really confused by the comments. OK, I know an RS doesn't come with a centre consul that is much use but I want to try to make the car a bit more practical. So, will it fit or not

yes it will..... ! I've already got the flat storage tray in mine and actually I am looking to change to the cup-holders !

it's thirsty work driving a 911 ! (verses my wife has got fed up of having to hold the drinks!)

Thanks for a sensible answer. It seems that some people have something against cupholders. What is wrong with making an RS more practical?

RS means Rennsport. i:e I'TS A RACING CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When was the last time you saw a race car with cupholders????. Porsche spent a load of money stripping out the non essentials to make it lighter. They even swopped the door handles for fabric straps because they weigh less than plastic.
Cupholders on an RS are about as logical as an ashtray on a motorbike.

But my RS has an ashtray! Are you trying to tell me that Porsche think it is OK to smoke but not to drink. The car also has a clock! Is that needed for a racing car? However, they obviously don't intend for you to read a map, hence no interior light and the need to carry a torch (that adds more weight than the interior light would have weighed!!!).

I'm sure Thora Hird's Shackelton chair will fit instead of a Recaro and be much more comfy... why not give that a go along with the cupholders, LOL

[:D]

Battenberg, vicar?

Nothing wrong with the Recaro's except that I have poured some of my soft drink all over them due to no cupholder! I have been missing the heated seats of my old car and have considered fitting electric seats with heating but it seems to be just too difficult.

But both of these items are in the dash. A clock shaped hole on the right wouldnt bode too well and as the dashboard will be a pretty standard item the ashtray is moulded into it and it would be too expensive to rejig the mould for the dash without an ahtray.
I take it that the cigarette lighter has been omitted?

No, the lighter is still there. Another must have for a racing car!!

And while everybody is taking the mick, has anybody considered installing some soundproofing under the rear carpets. I have dismissed the stick on variety, as this is both heavy and not easily removable. However, I have found some sound deadening carpet material that might do the job. Any thoughts?

Not wanting to sound rude but why did you buy it in the first place? You could have bought a really nice specification 964 C2 and still have a nice pile of cash left over.
You will have all the creature comforts ( electric seats, interior light etc) and it will still turn heads.

me thinks he...albeit maybe? laterly...protesteth too much.......! furry dice and nodding dog next then!

but tim you're right oh I did laugh!

Simon......go for the sport tops and you know the gap between the fire extinguisher the centre tunnel and the passenger seat.....get the right size and they'll fit perfectly in there.

and the only reason real 911's have ashtrays and NOT cup holders I THINK is because Vic Elford refused to get in one unless it was suitably equipped!....A man with his priorities right!....Don't Smoke he says now....he's avin a larrrf!
