WILLIAMS F1, GRAND PRIX COLLECTION EXCLUSIVE TOUR.

Thanks Ivor You are first reserve. Due to the popularity of the factory tours we are looking into others later in the year, there are at least 2 but not F1

Further update Following on with the F1 theme We have arranged to meet up in the morning at Dick Lovett Ferrari in Swindon where you will be welcome to have a look at the cars and have a coffee to start the day off. Apart from lots of Ferrari`s including an Enzo they also have some McLARENS They are open from 8.30 but we will have to leave by 10.oo at the latest as we don't want to be late for the tour, if anyone wants to go direct to Williams for 11.00 that is fine or meet us at Ferrari for 9.45 that will be good also. No Payment required yet, will let you know soon

Thanks to all the members that came along to help make this happen. We can’t thank Williams F1 enough for looking after us, making us feel welcome, taking us on a de tour of the tour into the workshop where they were working on some of the historic F1 cars ready for Goodwood (at the special invitation from Jonathan Williams) and into another garage to see Jonathans 3 litre RSR and having a chat with him. (nice guy) There was no problem taking as many photos as we wanted and getting close up to the cars. The tour was supposed to take 1.5 hours. We started at 11.00 and left the building at 14.00 what can I say !!!

Les I think it was the museum and conference centre which is where Williams keep their historic collection NOT the current F1 facility that is close by.

Stuart, Thanks for organising the tour, below is Dickie Stanford fettling cars in readiness for Goodwood FoS

Great Photo`s Ralph Especially the one with Dickie Stanford I think some people will be a bit jealous of our special treatment. It was good to see you and thanks for coming along

Just to clarify for the minions that don't seem to understand, We drove into the Williams F1 FACTORY through the one and only FACTORY gate, parked in one of the FACTORY car parks where the FACTORY workers park. We walked past the advanced engineering building, building No 1. We went into building No 2 and that was the Conference centre. The F1 development centre was next door in building No 3. During our tour we had a special invite to go out the back of building No 2 into another building and the above photo was taken in a place normally out of bounds to the tours and some of us had a chat with Jonathan Williams. so make of that what you will

Stuart/Elaine - thank you so much for organising - really special day. I was rooting for Williams at the British GP this weekend!
