Wilton House Supercar Day 14th August

The Supercar Day is to be held in the grounds of Wilton House. Lived in for over 400 years by the Earls of Pembroke, the House has a fine collection of paintings and sculpture and is considered to have the finest 17th century state rooms in England.

The Supercar Day event is run to benefit two charities; Wilton House Trust which looks after the maintenance and upkeep of the House and Grounds, and Stars Appeal which raises funds to benefit local people in Salisbury Hospital. Last year over £20,000 was raised for Stars Appeal.

This event has run for the last 2 years and this year promises to be bigger, better and even louder than the previous two events, with some spectacular Supercars already lined up to take part. The event will also include Classic cars which will form a static display.
In 2010, over 130 Supercars provided a Cavalcade including Bugatti Veyron, McLaren F1, Pagani Zonda, the very best in Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Aston Martin and many more. This year promises to be even better and new attractions will be posted on their website.
Organised and publicised by The Salisbury Journal, we will be allocated a pitch in the commercial section of the site alongside the Aston Martin OC, Rolls Royce, & Bentley OC. Ferrari OC etc. etc. Size of the pitch depends on how many cars we provide.
Details;
Owners and cars will need to be on-site by 8.30am . The event closes at 5.00pm although participants will be able to leave beforehand if they have a long homeward journey.
The entry fee is £10, which goes directly to the supported charity. Cars and displays can also be left the day before if necessary as there will be all night security.

The register already has quite a few interested in attending the event and it looks to be a really socailable event for members based towards the South and the UK
Leading the charge is Lancerlot, so any questions then please do ask us..
If you'd like to join us for the day then please do get in contact.

Guys, We have some rooms reserved for us at the Barford Inn Nr. Wilton [link=http://thebarfordinn.co.uk/]http://thebarfordinn.co.uk/[/link] for Saturday 13th August at £65 pr B&B. Please contact me soonest if you would like one. If there's enough interest, we may be able to organise a meet up at lunchtime and a short drive out in the afternoon. Regards, Clive.

Sign me up please Gary - subject to Mrs approval of course (but its close to in-laws home so I doubt any objections).

Yes, definitely please Gary! Been on my calendar for months; was going anyway, so this is a bonus! See y'all there :) Edited to say: no room required at the Inn for me thanks - already in the the same county, albeit at the other end.

My son is most grateful! Only 5 years old this week, he keeps telling us how he's going to work really hard because he knows he'll have to if he wants to get a Veyron Supersport one day! He'll be straight out of the Porsche parking to look for one 'in the metal', so excuse me if I have to dash off in search of one as soon as we arrive. Will come back for a natter asap, I promise! [:D]

Hi Gary Can you add Caroline and I please. Caroline's cousin lives in Salisbury so we can kill 2 birds so to speak. What's the situation with rooms as I'm unsure currently what our situation will be. Geoff

ORIGINAL: garyw Geoff, if you pm Clive as he has the room details- or call them from the link. I've added you to the list. Garyw
Just to clarify the accommodation. You need to book the rooms through me as we've reserved them all at the Barford Inn and you'll be told they're full if you contact them direct. [;)] Regards, Clive.

Accommodation at the Barford Inn is now fully booked. [:)] Still all is not lost intrepid 997-er [;)], further accommodation has been made available nearby for those who wish to overnight on Saturday. I understand Barford Inn is well known for the good standard of its food and hospitality, so we should be in for a good night. [:D] Regards, Clive.
