Windcreen Replacement - RAC anyone?

I needed the screen replaced on my 996 Turbo and since I was footing the bill I got a quote from my OPC and also National mobile Windscreens.

The OPC wanted £900 or so and Mobile Windscreens quoted about £550.00

The manager at our local National said that they work for many Prestige dealers and that they had a few fitters that specialised in up market vehicles,so I entrusted the job to them.

The screen was a 'Special Order' so I had to wait a few days. On the appointed day the screen and fitter arrived at my house.

The screen was in a Porsche box and was ceremoniously carefully unpacked. The fitter then carefully inspected it, then he carefully inspected my damaged screen.

'Oh fiddly dee, I'll be jiggered, the silly people have sent the wrong screen for this model' he said '( or words to that effect)

I was pleased that he noticed this before he started work and not once he was trying to fit the wrong one. From memory the screen had the inbuild radio Antenna but was missing the Sat Nav antenna.

A few days later the correct screen arrived and I watched him change it.It was an exercise in care and know how and he made it look so simple.

On the invoice the list price was shown as £831.00 (pre VAT) but the nett price was shown as £441.72 which included the negotiated discount.

All in all a bill for £554.27 and a satisfied customer [:)]
