Windscreen wash

Was using the windscreen wipers with the water pump and all worked well. Water stopped flowing so I figured I was out of water. Filled it up - next to the fuel entry point at front of car - and behold - no water flows when I pump the water lever.
Please tell me this is an easy fix - like saying “Porsche are the best sports cars” three times - or am I into paying a mechanic to solve the issue.

HI, could be many things, from easy to fix to a little more complex.

First thing to check, can you hear the pump running when you action the stalk ? If yes then check pipe connections in the trunk (next to battery) - this is also to make sure you are not flooding the trunk..

If pump is working, and pipes are connected, could be that your nozzle jets are clogged up so try a little pin to see if there is not some gunk in there.

If all of the above ok, then need to do more investigative work at could be a dislodged pipe somewhere (but then you would get water in the front compartement), or the return valve which is on one of the jets that is not working anymore which means it will take a long time to prime the system again, etc etc

With some screen wash, once it is quite old, you get a slimy deposit building up in the reservoir which then clogs the exit out of the reservoir and/or the pump. If you can easily remove the reservoir, do so and give it a good flush out. At the same time, check that there is suction on the reservoir end of the pipe. If not you may have to flush the pump and the pipe. You will sometimes see this sludge in containers of screen wash that have been stored for a long time. Beware of pouring this stuff into the reservoir.

Probably the filter at the bottom of the pipe in the tank, as Ian says, congealed screen wash, remove, clean & flush

There is dust in the pipe in the tank, clean it bro

Could also be the non-return valves under the jets. To get at them you have to remove the trunk back plate. They are available from Porsche for a few pounds. Drivers side is pretty straightforward, passenger side more complicated. The age of the car suggests better to replace all the hoses back to the pump as after so many years the material will no longer be pliable. Try using a hair dryer.
