Wings & Wheels - Dunsfold - August 26th

We have got Karl, Chris, Adrien, Paul, Simon and myself meeting at (Shell Sunbury, TW13 6QN) at 7am and a quick stopover at Wisley BP services on the A3 to pick up John.

Adrien: Karl, Chris and I are meeting at the Chiswick roadabout between 6:30-6:45am, so you can either join us there or just see you at Shell...

Kish
PS: not got email or forum access until late evening now, see you tomorrow...

Guys, I'll meet you at Shell Sunbury too, no point doing a second stop just for one [;)]

Am I the only one not doing the runway and therefore will be directed to the public car park?

Weather looks excellent and should be a fun day! Cheers, John

Thanks Paul, great day.

Note for next year: the blurb says the airfield opens on the sat and camping is permitted. Could be a laugh with a few beers and would avoid the early start?

cheers

Excellent find Paul! Must do next year and I'm sure we made a very good impression with Celia and the double decker bus guy, forgot his name (the Brookland organisers) with the passenger rides on the runaway demo and the general social interaction with them... think we got 3 Porsche owners to join the club, so that was an extra bonus...

What sort of time did you guys leave? I managed to get back in time to have dinner with the missus, so she was happy too [:)]

Paul,

A huge thanks to YOU for organising a terrific day out for everyone and also arranging for the Porsches to be included as part of the runway display. The car/bike displays were terrific - everything from that 24L W12 Napier monster, those vintage GP motorbikes, and watching the XJ220 and McLaren 722 SLR (I heard it hit 186mph before braking!) down the runway.

The air display was superb - we stayed until the very end around 7'ish when the magnificent Hunter jetplane and Spitfire flew in tandem, and all the planes made their farewell take-off departures [literally] into the sunset.

And thanks for sorting out the weather as well [:D]

Photos to come!

If by organisation you mean a couple of emails and a phone call......it was my pleasure ! [;)]

Glad everyone enjoyed the day, it was a lot of fun......Alf and Celia enjoyed our company, the aerial displays were superb and the weather was perfect.

My ears are still ringing after the Hunter display and departure - a proper Cold War era fighter plane on full chat, lovely...

Alf has promised me a go on the Routemaster at Brooklands, and, no Ade, he doesn't mean a GT3 [&:]

I like Simon's photos, one or two summing up the paparazzi in him. T&A Simon, always a crowd pleaser (For those of you not sure what T&A mean, I'll explain it to you another day.....)
