Witney Motor Show - Witney - 2nd July

Once again, the annual Witney Car Show is being held at the Henry Box Playing Fields between 18:00 and 21:30 hours on Thursday July 2nd and we hope you'll be able to come along and join us. Even better would be if you are able to exhibit your Porsche in our display area. We have reserved the same space as last year where we were able to display 10 cars. If you want to display you'll need to be able to arrive to park infield before 17:30 at the latest. Exhibitors also get in free, BTW.

And, if you'd like to help, volunteers get to wear hi viz clothing [;)].

Please bear in mind that if you want to come into the Club's display area you'll need to get through the gate before 17:30 hrs latest. Otherwise it'll mean parking in the main car park and paying to get in (£1). We'll be there from 16:30. If you need to know more click here.

Alan and Fiona (AKA the joined up twins), OK you have lured me in with the promise of Hi Vis. You cunning devils. What time do I have to be there to assist? Any other Hi Vis items permissable if I get there extra early? OAP Could not give a Bu88er about working for anything Kirk

Hi Kirk, We're planning to get on site around 16:00 - 16:30 to set up the Region's display area. We'll be erecting the Region's gazebo so would really appreciate your help. Regarding hi-visibility clothing, as long as it complies with BS EN 471:2003 Glass 2, it will be meet the site operator's requirements. We understand that the latest Anne Summers Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) range will suit your needs. Rumour has it that James reviewed the range at a party during his recent Isle of Man trip.

Alan, Will be there. Yes I have been informed about James and his antics in IOM and I have pictures which unfortunately are "X" rated and therefore can not be publish here. The hairy legs are particularly disturbing. They are however, available by post under a plain cover. OAP Working towards a lie down Regards, Kirk

Hello Sounds like this can't be missed! Put me down please but not sure I can be early enough to sport hiviz😕 Nick

Consider yourself put down Nick. Hi vis is optional but considered de rigeur for many in our region. Chacun a son gout comme nous dites.

Hi Alan, Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the Witney motor show. I Have only just come out of Hi-viz re-habilitation at an exclusive location in Blackbird leys. I have been advised that any close proximity to hi-viz out side of work could lead to a sudden and severe reaction. I am having to wear dark glasses when dealing with any delivery drivers or any hi-viz wearing person. So far I have walked in to a van and had a long conversation with a lamp post (this didn't really have much to do with the dark glasses). Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be cured of this affliction and be able to return to normal life. So those who look forward to hi-viz, just remember the power it gives can be as addictive as the hi-viz and before you know it your bed room is painted florescent yellow and you have orange bed covers with a reflective strip. You walk around all day in hi-viz admiring the clothes the bin men are wearing and asking where they got them. Be careful as too much hi-viz is addictive.

“My sausage is in my deashers and my string is lovely?” (well that’s what Google translate says, anyway). Oh dear, what a predicament[:)]

James, I thought all bedrooms were painted in florescent colours and bedding had orange stripes? Tell me it's true! Waste reclamation executives are tastefully attired so you need to be careful as such critical comments can bring lots of unwanted refuse on your front door step. The O.R.E.P.S. (Oxford Reclamation Executive Punitive Squad) will be round to your house in no time to meet out summary justice. The talking to a lampost is so that you can have an intelligent conversation for once so don't worry. OAP working for the understanding of waste reclamation executives Regards, Kirk

Bl88dy Google Translate! What is a deasher? Kirk

Mein Luftkissenfahrzeug ist voller Aale but you wouldn't have found any of them in hi-viz whilst saying it!! See you all in Witney, come on James you'll be over it by then.

It looks like I might be slipping back as I have spent all day in a hi-viz polo shirt. There is nothing for it I will have to go back to the clinic. Kirk bedrooms were all painted like that in the 80's fortunately taste improved in the 90's

Alan and Fiona We'll be coming to the show and see you then. Sorry but no high viz for us thanks [:D] Steve and Dawn

James, Did not know you had left. In the words of the song "you can check out any time you like but you know you can never leave". Hotel California. OAP Tired of working so retired. Kirk

Just to clarify, high-visibility leisure wear is entirely optional at ALL our events. As several members have experienced, wearing such apparel does confer a level of apparent authority on the wearer and you get to direct members of the public with impunity. We cannot however say that this is the case with items from the Anne Summers' high-visiibility personal protective equipment range. Wearing these garments are rather more likely to ensure you spend the evening at the Thames Valley Police's excellent Custody Suite at Witney Police Station (5* recommended by TripAdvisor).

Hi Richard, That would be great. We look forward to seeing on Thursday. We welcome all region members to come along and join us at the show, and, if you wish, display your car/s in our area.
