Wolds Tulip Rally - 17th May

I know it seems a long way off right now but here's a quick note about our tulip rally in the Yorkshire Wolds on Sunday 17th May so that you can put it in your diaries.

This was a very successful event last year and Andrew Warner and Steve Walker have agreed to organise it again with a different route but based around the same start and finish points. The route will be meticulously planned with detailed tulip maps provided for each car and will start from The Triton in Brantingham a few miles west of Hull where we will meet for coffee (free) and bacon sandwiches (not free!) and will be stopping en route at Burton Agnes Hall for refreshments. The finish will be in the market square at Malton, with the option of having a meal at The Market Place restaurant, owned by one of our Region's supporters, John Hawkins of Specialist Cars of Malton.

This year we will be limiting the number of entries to 35 and will be inviting neighbouring Regions to join us. There will be a charge of £10 per car which will include a free coffee at The Triton, rally plate, goody bag, a high quality route map, free parking at Burton Agnes Hall and prizes for the winners, making the event excellent value for money.

Look out for more details on the Forum and in Porsche Post in the next few weeks.

21 I think, we have set a limit of 35 for this year because it starts to get a bit unwieldy at 2 min. headways with over that.

We really want to hit 35 this year so please let us know if you want to take part asap.

Interested and potentially could have two entries if there is still the space. Is there any more info or a link to last years Rally details/pics.

Edited to say, count me in please.

Cheers,

Scott

Yes there is space and we would be delighted to see you.

Further details will be posted fairly soon however interim confirmed info. is that the Triton at Brantingham will be opening for us for coffee and bacon rolls, Burton Agnes Hall is happy to have us for lunch break and John Hawkins will be opening restaurant for us again.

This should take you to comments re. last years event http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=373970

Have sent you some photos of last years event direct - regrettably only of start. If anyone has any they can share then please send them to Scott.

Is that 2 cars that will be coming Scott?

Hello Andrew/Steve,

At the moment definitely myself in the GT3 and potentially a friend in his 968 Sport. If the good Mr Hawkins is showing his face then we may well stop for lunch but let me confirm that later. I live just outside of Malton and know John and the Market Place well.

Look forward to meeting you too.

Best,

Scott

Thanks to those above who have signed up - looking forward to seeing you on the day ( if not before ) and we can promise you an excellent route with a variety of road types - all Porsche friendly.

So where are the Region 7 usual suspects, you know who you are - and you all enjoyed it last year!!!!

So if you are thinking of coming please let us know. Planning is now well advanced but some decisions that have to be made are strongly influenced by the numbers taking part.

Thanks

Andrew and Steve

Hi Andrew & Steve

Please add Kathryn and me to the list (check if we're on it already as I can't remember if I confirmed at a club night or not).

Do I recall we have to book lunch direct with John Hawkins if we want to eat at the Market Place?

Many Thanks

Dave

Will do, glad you both can come but as last years "winners" you really had to return to defend your title.

As regards John's restaurant there will be some details posted early next week ( I hope ) re the arrangements and, yes, it is hoped that the bookings will be made direct.

Are you doing Whitby run tomorrow?

Andrew and Steve

Following todays great run to Whitby 2 more of the regulars have put their name down ( John and Rita and Randolph )
Please sign up asap. if we don't have you on the list and you want to come.

Thanks

Andrew and Steve
