X51 let me down, but I'm not worried!

Some may remember my excited post back in June this year re my decision to retro fit the X51 to my C4S (thanks to Yves, okellyt and all the other posters who recommended the power pack along with Mid Sussex)

I was given a install date for two weeks later and all was well, so i thought....

by the first week of August and numerous false promises from Germany re the procurement of the parts the excitement finally disappeared [:(] (Important to note that Mid Sussex were fantastic throughout)
But then It hit me, whats a boy to do with the unspent £xxxx burning a hole in his pocket? GET A TURBO!!!!!

so here she is [:D]

First impressions - WOW this thing shifts, but in a totally different way (never having driven a turbo before). I actually find it easier to stick at 70ish than i did in the C4S. Love the short shift and the Ceramics are amazing. Its got a LSD as well but my level of driving will probably not see the benefit.

My only criticism is the exhaust note which sounds like a hair drier, all be it a V big one. Easily fixed though and my Cargraphic 'sound' version arrives next week [;)]

As much as i know i would have loved the X51 on my C4S I cant help but think i would have always though 'what if' every time a turbo whizzed passed me on the A1!

So to close, this one is for keeps..... I think????

Correct decision!!! [:D]

Basalt black?

I myself have settled on Cobalt, but my OPC is still proding me to go black or silver [&:]

Who's car will it be again? [&:]

...their's in about 4-5 years time [:D]

I wouldn't be listening to them at all though if both black and silver didn't look so damn good too!!!!!!

Can't fault your logic! You are more cavalier with your car buying decisions than I am with my choice of what to have for lunch![:D]

Nice one Nick [:D]

Black does look good on the Turbo although I have seen posts that say it doesn't show the lines off aswell !!? aswell as what ???[8D]

I reckon thats the last time you'll be left with money hanging around in a bank account!! :ROFLMAO:

Whats the interior ? Is it two tone ?

Please don't forget to update your profile and send an email to Rob with the new details..

Very nice. [:)]

Be sure to cherish it and treat it to as many tuning goodies as possible. [;)]

Dual colour dash? sand/black?

Hi Gary, given the choice I wanted GT Silver for a change but could not find a TT on the OPC network with the spec/ price / acceptable trade in on the C4S....

interior is two tone, black upper Sand lower.

Hi Yves, my Cargraphic exhaust arrives next week so it will hopefully sound as good as the C4S sports exhaust did [:)] Also promises a small hike in power?

Ecu map is next, but which one RUF, Cargraphic.......

I see your 997 is 'decommissioned' what's the scoop?

Hi David,

I think given the choice I would have gone for a all black. Really like the dule color black/sand tho, would like to swap out the Rear section of center console so its Aluminium Look. Twice the price as a retro fit tho []

That is gorgeous Nick, well done.
One thing I will say, even with a tasty exhaust, you never get the same note as a N/A car, thats one of the downsides of turbo's.
How does it compare on juice to your old 4S?

Nic one - lovelly car

Bassalt is the colour to go for, Sand beige IMHO is best inside with black outside.

Roll on 600bhp[:D]

Thanks V much! The new exhaust will be fitted Friday so I'll find out then, got to be better than stock IMHO?

MPG is currently 21.5 but I've done a lot of conservative motorway driving in the last few days. the 4S was around 22.7.

shavster,

Regretably I've sold it, many reasons, all of which too painful to recount ! Already plotting for my next one though....

Regarding a re-map, I can recommend DMS from personal experience although I would be tempted by something completely mad with at least 600bhp by Cargraphic in your position.

Regards

Yves
