X51 let me down, but I'm not worried!

I cant help but think i would have always though 'what if' every time a turbo whizzed passed me on the A1!

To set the record straight.

A turbo might 'wheeeeze' past like a 60 a day asthmatic man carrying some heavy shopping but not 'whizz'. No Siree.

Licking my wounds []

So the exhaust is fitted!

first impressions were a slight disappointment, there is just no way that a turbo is going to sound as good as a C4S with PSE.... I realise that now [:(]

A few days on its starting to sound better! Although almost quiet when just driving around town don't be fooled, floor it and all hell breaks loose [:)] What once sounded like a 'hair drier' now sounds like 500+ horses should (apparently the Cargraphic system gives me another 29?) Its very aggressive sounding.

This is a link to a 'youtube' video I took where you can hear the distintive sound as the turbos cut in (not as good as being there but still...) I'm basically flooring the car in 2nd, 3rd, and a touch of 4th [;)]

I'm defiantly going to get the ECU done now (its confirmed I'm having a mid life crisis!) after which I be out of money + some, so I'd better be happy [&:]

I think I'm going to go with DMS as I've had some good chats with the guys there and feel more confident working with a firm that will come to me to do the programming. RS tuning in Germany require the ECU to be sent to them. Also I rather be dealing with a UK firm in the unlikely event something goes wrong.

Will post new video when the ECU has been done, I've also got a performance meter coming so will post some data from that as well.

Unsure where you had your Cargrpahic exhaust fitted but Parr can do the powerkit for you here in the UK. Lawrence (lawrencestockwell@parr-uk.co.uk) is the guy I have been talking to.

You might want to check out this thread I started over on Rennteam:

I think I am going to wait until April when the Porsche Sports Exhaust comes out before I start looking at tuning mine.

I think I am going to wait until April when the Posche Sports Exhaust comes out before I start looking at tuning mine. The GT2 intercoolers are supposed to fit the Turbo so that will be a good mod to start off with for hot days.

Hi Alex,

I got it from Parr, although they did not fit it (i didn't want to drive all the way to them from Yorkshire). My understanding is that Parr send your ECU off to Cargraphic/RS Tuning in Germany to be programmed and this usually takes a week +. Bottom line is that Parr are effectively a reseller for Cargraphic so any issues are going to be passed to Germany.

BTW haven't read your thread yet, will take a look now.

I agree about the intercoolers, didn't realise we still get hot days here tho [;)]

You may be right but I am wondering why in the pic it has 'cargraphic' written on the replacement ECU?
