Yep another KW Thread, changing from M030

ORIGINAL: pauly

I saw the motorsportworld price though I think one indy would match it, and I would rather ask them for advice if I had any problems.

Just an update for those interested in buying KW's, Demon Tweeks are the cheapest I've found so far, I tried Center Gravity via their online form but they never came back to me, pity as they were my choice to do the geo.

Lee.
Im not a big fan of the KLA top mounts. When i first saw them, they seemed "cheap" , for want of a better word..[ Sorry John]
If the standard original Porsche mounts are ok then ide be sticking with them... OH + do they have a dot of green paint on them..?? If so, they are the M030 "green dot" top mounts.. They are actually a harder compound rubber, + pretty rare...BUT you might want to check the mount bearings , as they have been known to wear out....
If you could get some Dynatech top mounts ide recomend them.. FAB bits of kit. Only snag is they have been long out of production.. You might be able to find somebody who has a set , that they havnt got round to fitting, yet....Its a long shot...

Yes, the Dynatech were my first choice as they seemed very nice. They have two bearings, one to take the vertical loads and another to take the radial loads. There are others on the market of this design but apparently they don't seem to be that robust, but the Dynatech ones seem to be properly engineered. They also do a nice strut brace. The Racers Edge ones are good and get around the dual bearing issue by having one massive over-engineered bearing to take the loads in both directions. So far so good. It's as shame when a company that has a nicely engineered product seems to either loose interest or decide not to continue for some reason.

Hi Pauly

I tried Demon Tweeks today and they were the same price as everyone else £1299?

Have e mailed KW to ask about their top mounts. They can be included with the clubsport setup, I am assuming they will be fit the Varient 3 setup but have not heard anyone who has used them yet?

Been in touch with Unit 11 in Warrington today about them supplying and fitting and setting up geometry and anything else that may need attending to.

Let me know how you get on with your research

Cheers

Lee

Strange, DT were a bit cheaper than motorsportworld when I asked, I'm planning to buy and fit early next month.

Lee, Danny at Unit 11 did my car and he knows his way round them! Both he & Jonny are good guys to deal with and very reasonable labour rates too!

Thank best regards J.C
