Your project car might get CRUSHED!!!

I see your point, especially the point about speed cameras and the indiscrimate enforcement they bring, but I simply don't see this as being the same. Even if you don't trust the Post Office to deliver your completed SORN form you can make the same declaration on the DVLA website in seconds. I really don't see the problem. I would imagine also that even if you don't make the declaration the first step would be a fine with your car only being removed if you refuse to pay that.
