Don't let that stop you buying the car.

Ask Joel to drop the price suffciently to cover the fee for an inspection at your local OPC after you've bought the car.

Good call, if you want the warranty, you don't really want to get involved with this post inspection malarkey or trying to chip RSJ down, too much hassle.

Buy OPC or search out a good private sale with the warranty, which is transferable to you as a private buyer, good luck??

I've bought a couple of cars from RSJ and always found them to be honest and straightforward. I even bought my last car over the phone, without viewing. I trust their policy of only buying the best used cars and I know their own in-house checks are excellent - they have a great reputation for a reason. However, I've always used Porsche Inspections before buying. Yes, Peter Morgan is no longer with them but their reports are first rate and will flag up any issues that may arise in the immediate future. I suspect a full OPC report would be overly zealous and flag up issues that may arise in the distant future, forcing RSJ to open price negotiations - something they tend not to do. I can understand their reluctance. RSJ need a relatively fast flow of cars and to start looking at issues that could arise 1 or 2 years down the line just wouldn't make sense for them.

Anyway, I see this is all academic as you've gone for an OPC.

I bought my 997.2 from Joel at RSJ 2 years ago and I found them to be very good however Joel did pull my pants down on my part-ex'd 997.1 and gave me £1000 less than we'd agreed to after his man had given it the once over, I had the same experience at Dove House in the 00's with a Part-Ex Boxster 986 to a 987 - just normal practice to get you there when finance numbers were all agreed and then shaft you for extra
After sales was pretty good though, had an issue with the balancing of my upgrading wheels and Joel paid for it no questions asked
Will look to go back to him next summer, just hoping he'll get some 991's!

Oh that would annoy me. If all was agreed then I wouldn't be paying anymore.
