YRC - Harewood House

His your glass half empty, or half full allways look on the bright side, it says possible shower, so we have 6 hours sunshine yes, or the shower starts at 10am and stops at 3pm its still a shower.

Think positive, negativity gets you nowhere.

Please take the crack as a laugh

I bet there are many in the grave yard that wish they were at Harewood on sunday rain or sunshine.

One fantastic day, well put together by the yorkshire team, and the sun was out all day, 26c on the way home, always look on the bright side it works,

hope next year is as good.

Just spent a little time online looking for some good Porsche company and a day out. A day at Harewood? Perfect.

Oh, hang on. Its was today! [:(]

Can any one give me a little info on the Chatsworth day...

A fab day.

Big thanks to the Strasse and Specialist Cars of Malton teams for bringing some fantastic "for sale" machinery to ogle, and to all those who attended bringing their own eye candy, most of which was not for sale [;)]

My thanks to Ian and the team of Region 7 organisers, Judges, Dave and his team from Strasse, John and the team of Specialist Cars of Malton.

With many great cars on show and another really successful event for the region, it turned out a real day to remember for me and the family. To win first in original class and then the inaugural cup was something special to say the least. Once again thanks to all concerned.

Des

A big thank you to Ian and Sharon , Dave and Lindsay and all who helped make this such a fantastic day ! Here's to the next fifteen years !

John and all at specialist cars of malton

Yet another brilliant Harewood, this event always rocks even when it is torrential which we haven't had for a couple of years. As always a fantastic turn out.

Well done Des on winning the concours it was well deserved, your is a real joy to behold.

For me one of the best bit was watch John, Keith and the rest of the Malton crew depart on mass, quite some convoy. Not often that you get to see a Murcie and a Carrera GT sat next to each other burbling away. I may have Porsche written through my body like a stick of rock, but like a school boy I still hanker after a lambo in completely mad colours.

I can echo all of the comments made about this event - it's only my second year but another scorcher!! The only downside was being asked to part with £24 (2 adults & 2 children) for the privilige of sitting on the grass having a picnic - was the £10 paid for entry last year a one-off?

[FONT=verdana, geneva"][;)]Thanks to ian and sharon for all the hard work,mr hawkins and his merry men, hope we can book this weather every year.
Regards Dave and all the boys and girls at strasse

superb day out... got my noggin well and truely burnt.
Any chance of attracting trade stands such as Porscha-part or Jasmine etc... so I can look at oily car parts and not have to spend hours looking at clothes with my missus?
Was refreshing to see the yellow 2.7RS was well-used and not just a trailer queen... 'ring sticker noted!

I assumed it was a replica hence in the modified section. I didn't think real ones had the oil filler cap in the rear wing. Still a gorgeous car though.

Hi, First time on a Forum and also anything to do with Porsches.
Just bought 1997 Boxster and joined PCGB
Feel like a schoolboy again (no, not like that !!!) Always wanted a sports car and can now finally afford one (although buying one and running it are 2 different things)
Went along to the rally at Harewood with car and felt rather special, being able to park with other Porsches
Wife took her 307cc with kids (£18 family ticket bought on-line incidentally)
We both loved looking around the other cars and the weather coupled with surroundings was fantastic
Looking forward to Chatsworth House. Let's hope the weather is similar. Will have to take chairs and picnic this time though
Once again, a great day, great people and looking forward to many miles of "trouble-free" motoring (with your help of course!!

John and Jane

I have some photos but no knowledge of how to upload on here - will email to anyone to do it

Thanks everybody for your positive comments about Harewood. I think this year's was the best of the 3 years we've being involved in organising the event. It was a real team effort from R7 members who helped with the setting up, parking, admin and clearing the site and it made our jobs a lot easier. I thought the concours judges did a great job too. Congratulations to the concours winners and commiserations to those who didn't win a trophy. Don't let it put you off entering in future!

Of course, we couldn't stage an event like Harewood without the fantastic support we get from Strasse and Specialist Cars, so thanks again to them. Lindsay and the team do wonders arranging the trade stands and setting up the marquee the day before and John and the team are always there very early to organise their display.

Doug
I agree that Harewood prices are high, although the admission does allow access to attractions in the house and gardens. As a Club there's not much we can do about it other than buy a large number of advance tickets at a discounted price and sell them to members before the event. However, the financial exposure invloved in not selling them is too great against such a small Regional budget. I think there is a way of ordering tickets on line which should reduce the overall cost (see gonzosquidgy's post).

Dave
Congratulations on making your first post on the forum!

If you enjoyed Harewood, why not come to a Club meeting at The Owl at Hambleton - it can't be more than 7 or 8 miles away from you. Don't come on 1st July though - we're meeting at PC Leeds from 7.00 pm.

Ian

Hi Ian - Porsche Centre 1st July???? Have I missed the post on this. Its much nearer Shipley than Hambleton and I would certainly attend. What's happening??
