1982 Le Mans car for sale

I agree it's a shame the screws are visible, but it does make removing the lenses for cleaning (and removal of condensation) much easier than many of the alternatives I've seen, on most you need to remove the whole assembly from the car just to get to the fixings on the sides (possibly throwing out alignment at the same time).

Well I think it can all be made to work. I have received a reply to an email I sent them re changing one or two things, problem is that it's in German. They've actually addressed it to my German friend David, so I'll have to take it down to him to translate. I was asking if they could adapt the light bucket to accept two globes like Corleone's or the white 968rst. If it's all in house then I imagine that they could?
Oh, and Paul, seeing as this particular thread has long since left it's origins would you prefer us starting another? If you don't really mind then I can't see the point now as we've covered off most of what needs to be discussed but if you would prefer us to then just say the word. Maybe there might be others who are interested in the lights that haven't come accross this part of the thread I suppose.

No problem from me, we do often seem to wander away from the original post [:D]

At least the search function covers the entire thread so the keywords GTS , Clear Lights or Buckets should find it in the future.

Patrick,
I'm with you on removing the mechanism for the lights - its all very space hungry which is a pity.
That red car with the vented bonnet is very nice, kinda like a roadgoing 917........

One of the advantages of the 968 front is the bonnet is longer, (but I don't like the 968 look personally) - has anyone made a lightweight 944 Bonnet/Badge panel in one section with two appertures for fixed lights?

Couldn't believe just how quickly the GT3 powers away in some parts

I reckon (having driven a couple of serious cars) 911`s can always get useable full power down just that bit quicker out of a corner due to the weight transfer to the outer rear so not necessarily quicker but a head start and in the video its on long straights that it also pulls away but is caught on the corners. The GT3 was taking some corners very tight and was caught easily so I do think its more a case of £6000 nail versus £100,000 car and the size of the respective Gonads (and wallet).

I know of a brand new GT3 that ended up with £50,000 damage at Spa [] whereas if we wreck our 4 - 6K cars then even the salvage will realise a couple of grand in spares???

Paul,
$4-$6K...hehehe that's sadly funny. Thing is that the guy who crashed his new GT3 could afford it, I would not be in the same boat. Even though I haven't quite spent that sort of moollah, It is some way past the old $4-$6K...and still in the workshop...erghhh...
As for that clip, we don't know the specs of either car. The 944t is most likely to have been a 350hp -ish trackrat so no disgrace, but I do get your point re the early delivery aspect of 911's. Frustrating watching them on the track when they do that to us. Their time will come though..........................[;)]

enjoyed the video too and can see the 911 power-on mode is an advantage they have, but the '44t would be expected to be no where near it by most spectators.

Pity the rain held off..........
