Nick (lowndes on here!) and I are both collecting our Gen 2 turbos today so we thought rather than bore everyone to tears with separate threads, the first one home would start a joint thread to put up some photos!! Looks like that's me then![:)]
What a fabulous day to do it too! So here we go - the Red Baron has landed

For anyone interested in the bits and pieces it's PDK, PTV, Sports Chrono, UAI, Dynamic lights, Side skirts, heated seats, cruise, Adaptive Sport seats, rear console in colour, leather visors, illuminated sills (eek!), six disc DVD, lower rear apron painted, B pillars outlet in colour, PDK and handbrake aluminium.

A relatively gentle drive home of 160 miles but could have gone on and on and on........[:D] Stupid ear to ear grin and hard to believe it's actually here after what seemed like a very long wait. Right, bring on Normandy now![8D]

I'm sure Nick will be along soon.....

<<removed as Alan fixed pics in original post>>

Nice Turbo Alan, many congrats!

Alan is a lucky person [I was thinking of another word but did not wish to incur the wrath of the Moderators].

Manfred looks great in pictures and will look even better later this month in Cambridge!!

Many happy and safe miles.

That be Cardiff, that be! That's a couple of (much needed) quid in to the Welsh economy! Diolch! [:D]

Nice motor too! Are they charging extra for bright red cars on the Severn Bridge these days?! They are for everything else!

ORIGINAL: Alex L

Alan has moved them in Photobucket to his Llandow directory for some reason, and thus all the links are broken.
Oops, sorry, didn't realise it made a difference. Thanks for sorting in my absence Alex. Think I have sorted the OP now too?
Cheers Adrian, thankfully it's still free to get out of Wales![;)]

TS - I am assuming that Manfred is quicker on the road than he was getting you from Germany........

Stunning looking car, like all the options you picked.

So are you on the 21st Cambs trip so we can drool over the car?

Nice one [:D]

Wew shall exepct an intial running report in the near future, some reaosnable weather is forecast for the next few days........

Simply stunning!
Anyone who is undecided as to whether red looks good or not need only see those photos.
So hot it's cool![:D]
Conrgats boys!

Guards Red looks fantastic in the spring sunshine doesn't it? So much more vibrant than I remember my 1990 964 C4 looking. Just as well you are no shy retiring wall-flower, Alan, LOL and black is the only colour to choose inside.

Can you show us a picture of the seat belt outlets. I was tempted with the additional splash of colour but didn't do it.

Turbo II wheels look great as well...

I think we can confidently predict much fun will be had in Normandy!

Rushed home to see who was back first [:D]

Alan, as expected it looks stunning.. and what a day to collect it on- its been amazing weather, so perhaps the dealership did you a favour [;)]
They are some cracking photos too [8D]

Yes, the comparison report sooner than later....[:)]

Sorry for the delay. Having arrived home in good order I unloaded the car then moved it whereupon the tracker went off. Have spent the last couple of hours trying to sort it out. Tracker is an awful system in my view but now with a second attempt at remote reset all seems well.

Alan of course has stolen the show in both impact and quality so my rather modest offereing pale into a poor second place. Will take some better shots tomorrow when I have a bit more time.

I have little confidence that this will work so will post just one image to see

Nick

edit to fix link

We have all been anxiously waiting for your stunningly beautiful new turbo to appear on this forum in RED. I wish you many thousands of miles of exhilarating motoring.
Enjoy,
John
