I think we'll see some big capacity 944 engines appearing from a number of sources that I know of already, plus some of us continuing development of the standard 2.5 capacity.
There are a number of wholly UK designed and developed products and upgrades that should rival or exceed those from the USA. Drivability and reliability will probably become much talked about subjects along with the headline peak figures that only tell one aspect of the car's dynamics.
Some development work done over here has already gone back to the USA where some of the fruits of that development will become available through those USA based tuners and manufacturers.
I also think that development will head towards traditional mechanical enhancement of components rather than just the plug in or bolt on's that have flooded the 944 market over the last few years - a lot of us have 'done' the cheap things and have moved on to more substantial works and more in-depth traditional engineering development to work in conjunction with the new electronics.
It's good to see yet another UK tuner promising to provide data from the rollers of truth. More good news is that some of the USA owners are going to be sending me Dyno Dynamics graphs so they can play on our 'UK' playing field and have their data analysed on my website which will shortly receive even more enhancement of the 944 leage tables to allow much better analysis and comparison of our cars.
The 944's far from dead and hopefully the better tuning products will endure the full scrutiny and analysis of our entire 944 community and move things on for everyone even more than 2006 did.
I've done no development to WUF since April, just enjoyed the many events that I've been to this year and clocked up over 8,000 trouble free miles in the process with just oil change and new tyres. I'm now looking forward to finding the time to get back to much more development next year, hopefully a new pair of front wings (I'm trying to set up a group buy with a major UK parts and tuning company), enhanced GT3 braking setup and much modified suspension. WUF is now badged as a 944GT - better describing my design goals.
I've just uploaded the pictures from the VERY sucessful Reading meet on 16th December - 14 944's turned up for what's become a regular part of the 944 calendar. Look here http://www.cannell.co.uk/Reading%201206.htm (Still uploading a number of things so navigation bars temporarily off-line).
There will be free commemorative decals for most of the 944 events that I attend in 2007.
Look out for the new monthly Porsche only meeting on the last Wednesday of the month held at the world famous ACE-CAFE in London. If you've never been to the Ace, it's worth making at least one trip to this motoring Mecca. Have a look at the front cover of this month's Porsche Post. We've always got a good contingent of 944's attending from all round the country and you'll find a lot of Titanic members there as well so come along and say hello and enjoy the inevitable tyre kicking and fun !
Happy new year to all and keep those graphs coming in for inclusion on www.cannell.co.uk !

Sounds good, but Bedford is very noise sensitive I believe?
I've just spoken to the organiser and its a 101db day which isn't too bad for standard cars [], how noisy is a bad boy 964 with G pipe and cats removed? []
It's not the full GT circuit but the shorter 1.8mile West circuit, but if we get 5 people he will give a 5% discount. 10 or more for a 10$ discount. Lets clear the cobwebs in 2007
Patrick, the car is now lowered, although only on Eibach Pro Kit springs as I spent the KW money on new diesel injectors for the hearse. It also has had the paint tidied up and a set of cup 1 wheels with new ContiSport N2 tyres fitted. The brakes have been fully refurbed all round with new discs and pads. Still to do is braided lines and new fluid, fit the teardrop mirrors (hopefully I can get the bases from the paint shop today) and I'd like to get a set of front calliper carriers that will let me fit reasonably big blacks and RS front discs. I have RS brake ducts fitted but still not plumbed in to provide brake cooling. The exhaust has had the cat and the secondary silencer removed which is why I now have noise limit worries for track days.
In terms of making it go faster I haven't done anything yet.

I'm up for that, what do I need to do to get onto the group booking?

That's three of us definite here (Sawood, Riverside and me) and possibly Fen.
On Titanic I have already had interest from AndrewS. Now bearing in mind a lot of people are possibly away for the holidays I think this should be easily achievable. I will call Circuit Days again tomorrow and get it arranged then I'll post back here (and Titanic) with further instructions
