25th Anniversary Boxster

My Boxster25 has been in the OPC all week for another tracker hard reset and software update. Previously the hard reset only lasted two days. This time the tracker was re activated on Tuesday and its still working this morning, so im hoping the new software fixes the issue. I wasn't expecting to be back at the OPC so soon but its a nice place to be and great bunch of people. I was given a Macan for the week which gave me a chance to experience pdk box. I have the 25 back now.

I had a similar issue last month; the tracker failed about a few weeks.

But I've also recently had an email from Porsche and Vodaphone, and they have completed an over air update, so hopefully that will have fixed it going forward

My tracker and car connect app failed again after the latest software update and the second hard reset. No other solution being offered at this time and apparently there are many 718's and Macan's suffering this issue.

I see there is one advertised for £94k on Autotrader currently - great car but seems a little optimistic/greedy!

Yes but all porsche models and other new cars with long delivery times are selling at large premiums atm. Tom Hartley has one at £100k.

I finalised the spec on mine just before Christmas, delivery is March - originally ordered a GTS 4.0 but someone cancelled a 25yr at my dealers so they called me to see if I wanted it... took about 30 seconds to stop the car (as usual I was driving when they rang) and confirm by email. Gone for Silver, Red roof, black leather, red seatbelts, all the safety kit (worth the money if it saves you one insurance claim) and Burmester... I'm in a bit of nervous anticipation as my original delivery date for the GTS was going to be Q2 2023 so this is a year early (and I've not saved all the deposit yet... oops!)

On the face of it you have done well to jump the queue. I wonder if your dealer doesn’t have many orders.

If that is the case can you ask if they have a cancelled Mecan GTS so I could jump the queue as well.

I'm really pleased to hear that so many of you dislike the Boxster 25 Edition, that's fantastic, because I totally love it and it's currently my dream car if only I could afford one. The GT silver and red is a great looking combo and I have already considered a similar looking RS60 spyder in the same colours. I know its not a true spyder but these special edition cars do look special in my opinion. Standard models in comparison can just look - well "regular" and not very interesting.

Shoot me down if you like for being controversial.

So, if anyone knows of a good RS60 going for reasonable money let me know.

Thanks

Paul

Give them a call, dealer is Hull and they're part of Listers group so if they say no at least they'll be nice and polite about it!

It was an RS60 that finally persuaded me to go with the GT Silver / Red combo on my 25. I was on my way down to Silverstone for the PEC day and dropped into the dealer at Towcester. They had an awesome RS60, 18,000 miles, virtually as new. It was about £45k at the time (!), but was a stunner. It had such presence. Just checked for you and it’s gone unfortunately but there’s a few pictures of it on the Google page. I haven’t regretted speccing my 25 that way for a moment.

GT Silver with a red soft top and red leather is absolutely the best and fastest colour combination👍

I am of course biased.

That's one of the things that makes me a little nervous and that is that I'll put that mileage on mine easily in two years worth of weekending and roadtrips. Planning its succession is already happening, when is 992.2 coming...

I have a registration plate for sale suitable for the Boxster 25 Anniversary

Plate P25 ANV on retention, £650

Anyone ordered a Black '25 it landed at Preston this afternoon

Mine arrived early march, already put the run-in miles on it (partly because my daily is on loan to a friend) and started to open it up.

This is all the sports car you need. Comfortable for cruising, crushingly quick when not.

There seems to be a number of people selling these early, is that just to cash in?

Glad your enjoying your 25th [;)]

Yep outrageous prices used with just a few miles on them for a car that was 73k new

I Added a few extras still came out at under 78k I mean you don't need much on a highly speced car such as a 25th

Enjoy your car [:D]

...... couldn't get one.

Cliff

There's something wrong with the system if our longstanding and hardworking Register secretary couldn't get one of these special cars.

Cheers David.

Counts for nothing my friend even after owing circa 23 Porsches probably 6 or 7 from PCs

and the vast majority serviced there.

Happened before with the 981 GT4 & Spyder .

Keep what we have now.

Enjoy [:D]
