3" Downpipe has arrived - warning Shiny!!

I am no expert on exhausts and I agree Scotts optimal comment, but having made my own 3" downpipe and system, i can confirm that without silencing (which is how it was for 2 journeys) the car sounds like a Harrier Jet - totally deafening LOUD.

I now have a backbox silencer (from Jetex) and the car is really throaty and sweet sounding.

The engine just wants to Pull like a train and rev like a rotary, unfortunately the Toyo's struggle with the salty gritty roads.

My car is only a 2.5 so perhaps a 3L would be different. I did add a Stage 1 Lindsay I/C too.

Graham, its a shame you cut off that support bracket, I got some odd spanners and did the dexterous gymnastics to get the D/P fitted up with all original fittings. Having said that, I could not imagine wrapping the D/P - the space is just so limited.

Still considering the snorkel and airfilter inlet, somethings going to change there but I want it to look OE or perhaps 968turbo OE

Hi George,

Yes it is, and I *might* have managed to leave it on but it just seemed so difficult to get it in with it on - plus I found that the original was not actually bolted up when I removed it.....

Wrapping was easy with it fitted to the turbo on the work bench and then installed as a unit though.

I really wanted to retain it, in fact I did through all the previous mods, but in the end I had to accept that at airflow volumes much beyond standard it is just too restrictive. I'm hoping that the Venom will end up looking a bit OE with it just being a black housing.
