356 moderator?

Helen Goff

No.1 Poster
now i have a (almost working) 356 i wouldbe happy to volenteer as the 356 moderator so that this section could be open the same as the rest of the registers [8D]

The 356 area is supposed to be open to all forum members. Not just club members.

The only requirement is to register on the forums. Not too much to ask is it?

Hold on Mark this has always been in the past a closed shop eg you had to be a Paid club memeber to use the 356 forum.

If this is the case now eg things have changed then I for one think this is a good move and I hope we can get some more and new traffic for 356 content for the club and the interested parties.

I also would put my hand up for this to help Helen as I have always wanted to help out on the 356 side of things.. As I feel it is lacking any new blood to the section.

Now Mark can you confirm that the section can now be viewed by ALL memebers and NON members ( providing they register which is free, eg owners from out side the UK can now join in and offer their knowledge )

Whoop - I've just replied to all this on the other thread - we've got 2 going now [:D]

The way it was put to me (because I queried it at the time!) was that registration to the forums was required only.

I'm looking at it to see if I can work out if that is the case.

Thanks..Mark. If I remember correct the RS was not happy about any changes and gave in providing the forum was a closed shop. Which is a step in the right direction but it's like building half a bridge..

i don't see why the 356 section should have diffrent restrictions than any of the other registers.

theres nothing contraversial being talked about here just 356 information and news.

and resto tips, I think the resto tips are the key to the forum.. as not every one has cars being built by companies many are home restorations...

Great well done. Now, to do all the hard work, to let others know. That's the bit that takes the time ( years ) to undo some damage. And get a community started..

Five years of membership came to an end yesterday - have only been able to see this forum for the last 2-3 weeks - I'd say the damage to PCGB has been done.

I'll be on DDK...[;)]

That's evidently because you never completed the full forum registration process...
See -->HERE<-- or your welcoming email to see what you should have done, and you would have been able to see this area since it started. [&o]

I did fill it in.
I rang club HQ x 2 to ask for help and was referred to use the email address.
I emailed that black hole email address x 5 and....

It never got sorted -

Glad you were able to diagnose what I should have done from that...[8|]

In that case I apologise. You did all you could.

That was the system that was implemented. I have no influence/input/contol over it I'm afraid. I have heard of the occasional problem with non-replies, but not to the extent you had [&:]

It was easy to see what you should have done, but impossible for me to know you had tried and failed [&o]

Sorry to hear Jamie, I just set you as a Club member

I have about 5 (non) members a day referred to me by Club Office to set

Can't recall you ever being positive about PCGB . . . might be better if you gave up trying to promote the club . . . perhaps it would get more members[:D]

Hi All

It saddens me to read all the negative comments that certain "posters" keep making.

"Club does nothing for the ...........group"
"Club does not give enough technical articles for.............model"
etc. etc. etc.

Perhaps these "posters" would like to give a list of "what they want" rather than think the Club is full of mindreaders able to anticipate every need at the drop of a hat or valve spring!

Why not offer to write articles relevant to their needs, post ideas on the forum, publish help threads on the forum etc. rather than run away and hide on a " Forum Club"

As has been said many times before " you get out as much as you put in" for some people they get out a hell of a lot more than they put in!

Have fun
Paul Kelley

( I know numerous Members of our Club that are "Hands on" in every sense of the phrase when it comes to helping out with Club matters and working on their cars and giving huge amounts of help and advice without shouting about it )

Paul . . . you're asking for an earful there.

In fairness to Mark, he did get this forum going . . . perhaps he did it so he can post more negative comments [;)][:D][;)][:D] (that was a joke)

Hi All

EAR, EAR to that[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Lets just get POSITIVE and move foreward to make this CLUB of OURS provide what Members want.

Have fun

Paul Kelley
