422BHP from 944 Turbo - discuss

No don't go away for months Rick, we need another Uber Power freak here [] (until Fen gets up and running)

Which Map solution are you plumping for then Rick? Is it the Danno off the shelf one or the new Andrew and Wayne custom one? Enquiring minds need to know? [:D]

Leave my boxes alone !! LMAO

I don't have any information on the Wayne / Andrew solution, so don't know how tunable it is.

I keep hearing from Danno that the bits will be with me in 2 weeks (which 2 weeks, I don't know [][]) so it'll be the GURU solution. I've heard good things about this conversion from many sources and reckon it should be a good start point.

I hope it get's here soon so that I can get it fitted and move on to the turbo / head etc.

Might see you Sunday ?

Rick

Must update my avatar - it's sooooooo out of date.

Who's car is it in your avatar Rick? It certainly isn't yours, surley you've get 18" wheels, big reds and a twin pipe back box. And then there's the analog AF guage. Not that there's much point updating the avatar prior to the slotted badge panel and 968 Turbo spoiler. [:D]. You need a front splitter when you fit the new rear spoiler as well.

Edited: to clean up your boxes again [:D][:D]

I was hoping that Wayne would get back on here and give us some more info. I belive he basically used a sytem he has been using on BMW race cars for years. The prices that Andrew has posted on Titanic seem very competitive and they are able to install right away (as opposed to waiting for Guru Danno for months)

A MAP was always a long way down my list of things to do, but I am now thinking it will be the NEXT thing. My main hope would be to improve throttle response and reduce lag more than to getting any more power, which I don't think would be a significant increase. I am waiting until Andrew installs a MAP onto his 2.5 race car which has standard Turbo, intercooler, injectors etc so would be more comparative with my car

MAP (or any other method of removing the AFM) would decrease lag. Lag is increases by the semi-closed-loop delay ib building up enough airflow because of the springing on the barn door, particularly from low revs.

Bet its not slow!! 300 will do me fine.... Ok ok 350 would be nice [:D]

Andrew fitted my Guru 1a kit earlier this week and I was lucky enough to get a ride in his car, needless to say it was very impressive indeed. It's for sale at a reasonable price and If I had somewhere to keep it (or stay married to the woman I love) I'd seriously consider buying it, It needs some cosmetic work but not a massive amount. I can't stress enough how fantastic the sheer power is. Gives me something to work toward though :)

There's not a lot around that would beat it in the traffic light grand prix, in fact I think the chances of meeting anything better are next to none. Must be seriously satisfying to put the 100k plus brigade in their place with a relativly inexpensive car.
