458 Driven

Am I the only one who finds the 458 really ugly in red? Black doesn't look too bad, but if a car looks best in black then it's because it hides it's ugly line best!

...best looking car in that series is the white F430! Topgear review just in case you missed it: [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFatyz8w6s4&feature=player_embedded]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFatyz8w6s4&feature=player_embedded[/link] My wife says she's going to get a black convertible 458 in a few years just to make me jealous [:D]

I don't think there are that many of you. [;)] The white 430 in the background is of course a Scuderia. [:)] Intestingly when I was asked which I preferred to drive, It was the Scud - without even needing to give it much thought. [8|] Regards, Cive

Please expand... I have been keeping my eye out for 16M's. I wonder how much the drive is compromised by taking the top off though...

I think Judy would prefer riding in 458, but for me the Scuderia is a "proper" driver's car - a great thrill and very focused. With this mind, 16M appears to be a bit of a contradiction. It was supposed to have been a "limited" production run (499 + plenty![8|]) but has sold well and earned Ferrari mucho euro, so who am I to criticise? I'm not keen on cabs. anyway and not having driven 16M, it would be unfair to slag it off. They're all very desirable motors, of course. [:)] Regards, Clive

Interesting where people decide to fix the front number plate on 458's. I have yet to see a legal one! [&:] Regards, Clive

This weeks Autocar has a yellow 458 and its number plate appears legal but spoils the front IMHO, Italian number plates always look so much better don't they.....

That comes close - but even then it's not on a flat plain. [] Some owners seem to carry the front plate around in the boot and say it fell off if they should get stopped! [8|]

Another 458 has gone up in flames. See http://wreckedexotics.com/articles/055-458-crashes.shtml I am rather pleased that I dont have a 458 just a the moment as they do appear rather combustable!!

Bob, Are you sure you're OK? I'm getting a liitle worried you're spending time looking at websites with titles such as "wrecked exotics"!

The web site was in the Times today alongside an article about 458's bursting into flames. Yes I am fine thank you and loving the GT 3. Awesome motor. A poor mans scud

So Clive was it you setting fire to all those new 458's, not wanting any one to have a better ferrari than you....... and I thought it was James may at first All the 458 fires I've seen seem to have a red scud nearby........ .

[:D] [:D] Nice one Tom, I'd have to be moving around the world at quite a rate of knots to be guilty of that. Better car? Well, it all depends on your perspective. The jury's still out IMHO. Regards, Clive

Odd that in the grey one its the first time I've noticed, in pictures anyway, the pronounced "dip" out to/over the rear wheel arch Maybe its the angle of the photo but looks odd Black though would be my choice of colour on one by a long way

White Turbo in the background......maybe it was a GT2 and Clive didn't sell it after all. You have been away a lot recently and the SCUD is still pretty quick.......... Pretty car - but other than my Clive conspiracy theory any one know why they are all sponatneously combusting?
