924 GT Look-a-like.

ORIGINAL: pfgascoigne

I think the way to go is:-

924S in red or silver, in the best condition I can find. ( 5 stud wheels means one problem solved).

924 Turbo or 944 Turbo gear box. Will a 944 Turbo gearbox fit a 924S?

Black trim as close as I can get to the original.

Body kit, who makes the best one?

Engine. I havn't made my mind up on this, How much do 924S and 924 Turbo engines weigh?

Anyone got a 924S, Manual or auto, in silver or red for sale?

I would consider what engine you wish to use carefully before determining which shell to use - the mounts and crossmember are considerably different between a 924 Turbo, and 924S.
The 924S won't have the grills in the badgepanel, and on the 924T it is a welded on panel - not sure about on the 924S, but would suspect it is too. The 924T has five stud wheels anyway - as far as I am aware the 924S/924T/early 944 all share the same hubs/brakes... just not sure about the spacers.

I have a spare 924T and 944 engine out of the car, unfortunately I don't have anything with which to weigh them!

Regards,

Tref.
