944/968 front ARB reinforcement brackets

New member
Any one interested in front ARB reinforcements? These have been made from quality steel and then gold passivated. Price will be around £29 delivered to you. A tenner cheaper than Design 911, etc? 85.5+ sunroof seals coming very soon as well.

Why would anyone want to use this?
The drop links are designed to flex, otherwise the car understeers like a barge. Been there done that and also several friends who track their cars.

Really ? have you read somewhere that Porsche designed the hangers to flex ?
or just found that with them fitted they were too stiff and causing an imbalance for your application?

These additional brackets will HOLD the vertical brackets more firm which is also what a Poly Bush does as oppose to Rubber
stop the deflection and offer more resistance.

I've got them fitted but i don't have any understeer barge scenerio on a 26.8mm thick front bar but then my front coils
are only 190 Lb's and maybe yours and other friends tracked cars are much higher?

My Sprung (vehicle weight) and Unsprung is a lot less than stock also which only makes the ratio stiffer but no Piggy Understeer.

If you look at the mount, there is a pressing in it to stop the delfection. With the bracket fitted, it triangullates the mount to stop any other deflection or movement. They are rigidly mounted so clearly designed not to move.

I have some on my coupe, fitted them after a few people had broken the original brackets, didn't notice an increase in understeer at the time, but may have changed something else at the same time, don't recall now was a long time back!

I've had these on my car for quite a few years now... not noticed any handling issues but then again I don't push the car these days....

I had them fitted to my old 944 t, my car was massively oversteery so never had an issue, was running 26.8 front and 18mm rear. Alastair will maybe give you a shout as might want a set for my new one

Did you get rid of it and if so how did you do it? (Oversteer)

I unfortunately sold the car before dialing it out. It initially had gaz golds and I changed to kw's which I never took on the track before selling. I'm not sure what it was, I completely re-bushed the rear including delrin spring plate bushes and solid spring plate and banana mounts. im not sure what it was to be fair, would maybe have tried putting a 16mm on rear or keep 18 but change front to 30mm or possibly just soften the rear to keep a bit more rear end grip

is your car over steering? Mine was just doing it on turn in with no throttle.

If you stiffened everything up with solid stuff on the rear it will be much less compliant and promote oversteer, especially with no throttle and lift off (oversteer)

I've got the reverse ! the rear end does not move apart from corner exit & power application only on greasy roundabouts !
So a stiffer rear is required, as it's rolls a little too much and I think it's not helped by the wishbone angle which is much higher at the ball joint end than they should be.

I took off the 7x16 Rims at the weekend and tried 8x16 all round but it was worst, but then it was cold and greasy!
I need to wait a bit for dryer weather.

Yes I have, talking with former German engineers linked with the factory and who were involved in the cars back in the days. Also confirmed from a few friends who have raced their 944 on the Nüburgring and took them right away as like me they nearly crashed in the first corner negociated with some pace.

I suspect that your wheels weren't all pointing in the right direction as that is pretty severe and a major change from the understeer tendency in stock form.

This sounds a little vague and bizarre really?
"Former Engineers linked & Involved with the factory", sounds like they may not of been Porsche employees? but also were they in the know as far as the design of the vertical ARB brackets were designed and meant to flex?

And the second bit "Race cars" nearly crashing because the car's were fitted with these strengthening brackets sounds very strange?

There's a few on here that had or have them, I've done nearly 3000 miles with them on public roads and an Oulton Park track day
and touch wood had nothing anywhere near a HUGE scary moment of crashing because of some extra strength on the ARB mountings, and I've got a 26.8mm front Bar and 100kg less weight on the front axle, and 250kg less total compared to stock.
(Which would make the car stiffer than a standard car)

I've even got quite a bit of front body Roll, and was considering a thicker bar!

geo was all done, I had a fried who races set it up and I think he maybe did something with the caster so that it turned in better, I told him that they had a tendency to understeer so maybe he changed it too much

This topic has been covered to death and I will not expand any further.
Anyone is free to mess up with the chassis design the way they want.

Unless you mean a previous post ? this subject hasn't been covered much at all.

You need to be more "Flexible" than that!
You or anyone can't post a declaration or opinion about something without considering others may
want an explanation etc...

You may very well have a point, but you've not provided much Meat to stack up with such a claim so far.

"I will not expand any further" & "Anyone is free to mess up with the chassis design" feels like 2 fingers to everybody who has posted here they have them fitted these brackets any reported no "Understeer like a Barge" issues.

I'm genuinely interested to learn if there's some logic and explanation here?

Roger - you've remarked before that being here for a long period of time doesn't (in your eyes) mean that you are always right and that you can post without impunity. I'd counter that by saying that you have put several noses out of joint by joining as a new member and then spamming the forum with rants and quotes (and requotes) calling out anyone who doesn't agree with you. If you'd been on here longer then you would realise that TTM is both a long-standing and knowledgeable member as well as not having English as a first language.

Being around a community such as this for some time will give you an insight into people's personalities and knowledge. I know that a lot of your posts mean well but if I have to read another post about how your car is the best ever due to XXX KG weight loss and "only" needing XXX springs and skinny tyres for whatever hyperbole you feel like of the day then my eyes will start to bleed.

I'm genuinely unsure as to whether you are well intentioned but often misguided, a massive online troll or just a belligerent old goat. Deep down I believe that you have a lot to offer the 944 community and you do appear very generous in offers to assist others but show some temerity and self awareness please.

Hey, I'm asking a question and some clarification from a members Statement ? but a response has been denied for no good reason?

Hence this Post of some brackets for Sale does not conclude because of the (long-standing and knowledgeable) member's Sweeping Declaration about the products performance being adverse & dangerous has now been shut down and ignored.

The member will not "expand any further " unyet no explanation has been given? and it seems like your saying that Long term members are high up in the rankings and so cannot be questioned?

So anyone with these brackets Fitted could all be in "Danger" and are lucky to not of had a HUGE accident so far etc..which does not help anyone with them fitted or anybody considering buying & Fitting them in the future.

It looks like Skinny Tyres and Losing colossal amounts of weight from a Porsche Transaxle is keeping you up at night?
Your personal insults to me regarding a farm animal and your uncertainty about my character and general rude attitude is not welcome.
