I would recommend it is at a DynoDynamics rolling road, just because they are repeatable (although known to read a bit low, hence being known as "the rollers of doom").
Where, somewhere central in the country would be good, the one used for the Titanic944 days was a nice location, being silverstone it was easy for those north or south of the M25... Maybe not central for those in Scotland, but centralish for the mainland as a whole.
The only thing is, it is probably good to arrange this kind of thing for early spring, as lots of people have put their Porsche to bed for the winter, so might not be able to attend, but it also gives plenty of people the chance to be able to attend before their diary is full up, between now and christmas a lot of people have lots of commitments booking up, such as visiting relatives and being dragged round shops by their other halves!
I was hoping you might crop up on this thread - did you have anything to do with the one somewhere around Hurn airport? I was wondering if we could generate enough interest for another there... I was thinking of suggesting it to those in our region and possibly adding it to the Dorset calendar as something we haven't done before as a region.

Yeah I arranged the one that I think you were talking about, which was also a BBQ at my workshop when we were in Christchurch.
That rolling road (Dyno Dynamics 4 wheel drive one) has now migrated to Verwood, which is nearer to my new workshops in Ferndown north of Bournemouth. The business name where it is now is VeySport which is run by Andy Vey, who used to opperate the dyno at Triton, who have now become a van specialist lol.
For your local needs it would be ideal, however for this threads national one, it might be better for it to be one somewhere in the midlands and not one used by any of the Porsche tuners, so everyone knows it is impartial.
Is it the same type of Dyno at Silverstone? I seem to recall it was chosen by the Titanic group because of it being realistic rather than massaging the egos of owners! I seem to recall something like 30-40odd 944s at those... I think those days are gone, though I would love to be proven wrong! How many cars does it need to make such a day viable?

The more the merrier so if it helps with numbers, this could/should be opened to more than just 944's.
(Really excited as the impression Mark gave me is the car will be better than initially expected. Will share more in a new thread soon hopefully.)

I thought they'd closed? Might be wrong.
The good thing with the Silverstone dyno was that all the listings on Cannell's site are from there, so it's easy to compare results over time.

However, it is probably easy for any dyno to be only as accurate as its last calibration.
Never been dyno before so I don't no how long it takes per car. 1hour per car? Day would be 8/10 cars maybe less cars if some are doing more then one test

Go on Tref - book it up as a Dorset Region event, but with all others (especially 994 people) welcome.
Tref.
