944 trackday at Donington videos

They were whisper quiet before the trackday, however they do now squeal like I have small piglets trapped in my callipers []

Thats why I asked, so do mine when coming to a stop [&:]

The initial retardation is great and as they heat they grip more without added pedal pressure, its just like a big boat anchor, great stuff [;)]

Looks like everyone had a great day, except for the 996 owners who probably didnt know what to think about 1980's hardware chasing them down.

Looks like LIL could do with 18PSI on the next track day to turn 996/GT3/GT2/TT confusion into lots of 996 owners visiting their OPC's to complain about lack of power!

Well done chaps!

Hi Andy,

We don't usually do PCGB Track Days as they are more expensive then some/most......

In this instance it was free so well worth the money.

If I'd paid for the day....

How did you guys get it free????

Great video, great to see the 944T showing its potential like that, - can I suggest a 3 camera setup for Front/Side and Rear view when you start into the GT3's? I'd love to see the expressions...[&o][:(][&:][][][>:][X(]..........[:D]

One other thing, what about a mic positioned on the rocker cover of the 3.2 - It could be a Number One - (and I'd love to hear it.[:)])

Some nice shooting there guys and if I may ask any advice on such matters. I'm interested in doing some of the same so is there any advice or what camera to get or not to get etc. I have a harness bar mounted behind me which would be the traditional position but I noticed that Paul's lipstick must have been mounted off the mirror?
Oh and Paul, I tried to start another thread about my car but I could only upload 1 picture per post and I have a few. Am I just being an idiot or can someone host a bunch of pic's of mine as an alternative?
Thanks
Patrick

All you need is a cheap camcorder that has a yellow AV IN socket. Not many seem to have it these days but when I bought mine (£299 IIRC) a few years ago most of the Canon range had it. For easy upload to a PC it really helps if it has a DV out socket as well. The bulletcam itself came from www.rfconcepts.co.uk

They seem to have far more options now but I believe mine was pack 3 here:

Here it is velcro'd to my windscreen

You can only embed one picture in each post on the forum so either use multiple posts like this or upload your pics to something like www.photobucket.com and it will give you the html code next to each picture to enter into your post instream for multiple pics [:)]

It was first prize in the Regions and Registers competition at Eynsham Hall last year [:)]

Cool. Well done. Hope you guys get out to the paid ones as well. Hope to see you all again[:)]

Mine came from fast films http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/ and is mounted on the passenger rear side window on this occasion. Got a good deal on a cam, microphone, lenses, suction mount, tether and case.
I have a sony DV camcorder that takes video in and DV out - however fast films also reccomend an MP4 player, they are getting cheaper all the time, will take video and sound in, allow easy transfer to PC and have lots of storage.

Thanks for those pic's Paul that is nice and clear now. So does the velcro stick to the inside windscreen and then the 'wedge' of whatever that material is then stick to that, followed by the lipstick camera?
Oh by the way, I currently have a thread on Rennlist a.t.m. re my rebuild. It's titled 'Just a few subtle changes of late'. Please check it out and comment.[:D]

Oops I forgot to mention the wedge [:D] It's simply a wooden block that I cut to a 10 degree angle. It is velcro'd to the screen and the camera is velcro'd to the wedge. I cut a batch of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 degree wedges etc so I have a variety for the rear hatch too.

Off to check your rebuild on Rennlist now [8D]

The velcro is sticky backed on both pieces (the hard loops and the soft fuzz) and is just stuck to the windscreen permanently. It does peel straight off though with a bit of warmth, but I just leave it there. I also have a piece in the rear under spoiler, right by the tailpipe cut out for low angled rear views [8D]

I like the idea of the rear view. Ultimately my goal is to do a sort of mini-movie with many different angles and sounds, all edited to an Oscar winning production. [:D]
