First thank you David (964RS_DAB) for your email. It already helps me a lot and I'll send you another about my trip.

Here... Just a question to have your advice too. Most of you know The Red Baron. You have seen it. How it is, how it runs (I'm the first owner with historic and bills), has done 1 day at Clastres and never circuit[;)] and... 126.000 miles. Never crashed...

I've asked an expertise to know its value to take an insurance (a full one) to cover my car. Even if it cost more because of the estimation.BUT...
Red Baron has been estimated at 40.000€ [:(]
I'd like your advices and coms... Thanks to react because I have to take a decision... (And thanks again David)

Wow that's harsh. Although high miles its in lovely condition. Plus there simply isnt cars for sale for less than 50k Sterling. Can you use adverts from Pistonheads / mobile.de, Thomas's site to build the case?

Or would it be possible to a valuation from a dealer perhaps? I.e someone like Thomas, even if you have to pay him for the service?

This insurance has a "special price" because The Red Baron is at the Retromobile club of Spa www.retromobileclubdespa.be/ . This club accepts 20 y old vehicles and cars with particular specifications (like the RS.) It also provides the possibility to have special prices for this insurance. For this, I have the choice between 3 expertises possible recognized by the FBVA (belgian federation for the ancient vehicles... www.bfov.be/ ) I'm going to take the 2 other estimations. It's the first time that I have a so low one. Even Flat 6 give a higher cote and, has done a complete issue on the 964RS for its 20th anniversary (anniversary of Flat 6 and the 964RS both) This was the number 237/November 2010.
 
Hi Jean Marc , good to see your post on the forum.

My insurance company accepted a valuation from Porsche Club Great Bitain ( this one !) , which was based on 6 photos and a description provided by me. However this valuation is only for PCGB members I think .

PS I thought the valuation of my car was too high and this made the insurance much more expensive !!!! which is the opposite problem to you [:D]
