964rsdatabase.com - Now online

Martin,
Can you confirm the information you hold is secure, is not uploaded in the 'background' of your site (behind the ticks as it were) and cannot be accessed by anyone except yourself.
Many thanks,
Rich

Rich, i can confirm all the information i am holding is secure. It is not in the background of the site at all. When i access the document to edit it, i am faced with the words 'tick' or 'cross' literally!

Thank you for raising the point though. Confidentiality was always a big concern of mine and this is one reason why the site has taken a while to develop.

Regards
Martin

Martin,

I have a bunch of contemporary reviews and tests of RS and Cup car - of course in German. In case that could be interesting also, let me know!

My option code isn´t on that side either. M 700 - for early Cup cars. I think that code was only given to Weissach (where the first Cup cars were built AFAIK)cars, but I´m not sure.

Great site Martin, I'll dig out a photo to send to the gallery.

May I make a request. It would be interesting if we could click on individual cars in the database to see a pop-up photograph of the car (with reg numbers blocked out just as you have done with all the other images). Is it possible to do?

Cheers,
Rich

Agreed....would be a good idea.

Thank you for your effort Martin!!!

Hacki,
could you send me a list of those reviews please?
I know about Auto Motor und Sport from july and Dec 91, but thats about it so any others would be welcome.

Simon, unfortunately the best i can offer is some ticks and crosses. At this stage there is no access to the actual information. I hope you can appreciate that this is a hobby of mine, funded solely by myself and that website design does not come cheap!

This is the safest way i could think of to protect owners' details/information. Had i gone down the route of allowing password protected entry and some details slipped into the wrong hands by mistake, i'm sure there would have been a queue around the block waiting to string me up!

Hopefully you will understand my reasoning behind this even though i can appreciate how frustrating it may be to some members. Maybe you would like to email me the missing details on your car so i could turn those 'crosses' into 'ticks'.

Regards
Martin

That's makes a lot of sense as the first Cups were converted C2 Shells..... the later Cups as we all know were based on the "New" 964RS Shell job done ...[:D]

Martin. Did you get the info from the club's database or was it from a previous owner? I have no problem whichever way, just curious because you have mine down as knowing the engine number etc. whereas I have only posted the chassis number (0169)

Martin,
bit nervous if this all goes commercial, not sure I want dealers to have access to any of my details, but what would be nice would be to link it up with the register and to keep the info in the clubs archive.

Happy to supply you with a list of articles/reviews to put up putting up actual copies might rais copyright issues.

Tony

Or, if attached to a link to the publication, they may be seen as the perfect advertisement for them, and therefore, a fair exchange with mutual benefit in kind ?

P.S. Very please to see that our security is assured, I hope the hobby continues to blossom.

The website is great Martin. I would like to see something similar for the 993 RS!

If I was making a change to your site, it would be state the colour of each car rather than just a tick. I think a thumb nail pic of each car would be great as well. Clicking on this pic could link the reader to the owner's website / blog like the ones quite a few of us have on Pistonheads, see here:

Interesting to see Cassis metalic as one of the colour options. Anyone got a picture of one in this colour please.

That'll be you ChrisW - one step forward [;)]

Sorry Paul, but Chris's car is Coral Red. I do have a photo of the Cassis metallic car but am waiting for the owner to confirm the reg number. If he has changed it, i will post the photo as is. If not, i'll erase the reg number.
