991 Owners Cars

Its very similar but a metallic. McLaren do a very similar colour too like the Bentley. You can also get a matching kiddy trike from Bentley in same hue to match. Seals it for me as best GT. I may get a DSC box this will soften off the ride which is on the firm side for a turbo s. Needs to be I suppose the way it goes.

Back on topic I loved the look of the Lambo S 740-4, Ferrari F12, McLaren 600LT and 992 turbo s cab owners at VMAX200. They all popped over to say hello afterwards and thought mine had been tuned. They were even more deflated when I told them no just a sports exhaust. My other half's friends were there in a black 600LT and brand new R8 V10 Plus too same results was so funny I think Porsche maybe gave me the exclusive power kit under the table as I told them I'd be using for a lot of top speed events and circuit driving and tried to spec it officially through Exclusive. They cryptically told me I'd not be disappointed with the performance. Someone at Porsche Exclusive has a sense of humour. No way its 580bhp like a standard turbo s. Or maybe they all have more than 580bhp. Pics of brand new when taking delivery and how she looked a few weeks later ;)

Two great photos of your baby! :)

I think Porsche habitually under-estimate the power of their cars, at least in the official figures that they quote.

So good to see a car being used properly! ;-)

Car drives so much better on these. You can feel the weight difference and my BBS F1 R are much lighter than stock. These feel half the weight of the BBS F1 which are half the weight the stock OEM alloy. [:)]

Hi Mark,

Nice first post!

I have a bit in common with your history!

Macan 2.0 in Rhodium Silver.

991.1 C2 with PDK in Platinum Silver.

Panamera 4 in Carmine Red.

991.2 Carrera T. Manual transmission in Racing Yellow.

I’ve owned the Carrera T since new in April 2016. My favourite car so far, and the once that I’ve kept the longest! [:)]

Hi all!

Have just rejoined PCGB having lapsed for a year but became the proud owner of a 991.1 S Cabrio a couple of weeks ago and felt it a good idea to say a general Hi!

I've had 2 Boxsters previously (987 and 981) which I loved and drove every day! Will attempt to attach a couple of pics and hope to get to know some of the people on this site either through chat or events!

Cheers for now

Rich

I have only just joined myself , and recently bought a 991.2 cab , after a couple of years away from the brand.

Hi Mark and thank you for your welcome!

I must say that yours looks stunning!! How do you compare her to the others you have owned? My Porsche history only extends to the 987 and 981 Boxsters but I loved both of them!

Rich

Rich,

Its the most modern Porsche I have owned , the new 3.0 engine is very smooth and responsive, its the early torque arrival that is the greatest difference. The howl of the 3.8 engine is missing a little at the top end, I had the sports exhaust on my 991.1 and the sports exhaust on the 991.2 is very good considering the turbos.

The Macan Turbo is a class act , well spec'd and fast as you need for a SUV.

Great cars all round, although haven't been brave enough to got out in the snow just yet!

I actually heard a 991.2 recently and tbh I thought it sounded great! Just a difference in tone I thought but still sounded really throaty!!

Few pics from Dec 22 Bicester event. I'm enjoying these new wheels. Plan to put Michelin 265 and 325 tyres on soon which will fill the wheel arches out nicely and improve handling further. The Pirelli 245 and 305 on this set of carbon wheels actually feel better than the Pirelli set my smurf mobile was delivered on which were a bit skittish. She also has carbon folding buckets and carbon trim on the interior so all works very well aesthetically as well as the improved performance.

Non of these options like folding carbon buckets and or carbon wheels available on 992 turbo s. I laughed when my husband took one look at the 991 turbo s back in 2013 @ Hatfield OPC and told Porsche I'm keeping my manual 997 turbo as I can't get on with PDK. I had a 997.2 C4S cab at the time. A decade on I took one look at the new 992 turbo s at VMAX200 event and thought I'm never selling my 991. Victor Meldrew syndrome is contagious ;)

Yes the Mint Green 997 turbo is my husbands car. He's had Minty from new and sent to Porsche Special Ops resto team @ Reading for a makeover the car was originally black. Thread on Minty and also a short youtube vid in the 997 forum. Amazing car. Quicker cross country than both a 991 and 992 turbo mainly due to Minty's smaller footprint we have to be careful of cyclists and tractors. He was right to keep and improve his turbo I actually tried to get him to buy a new 911 when he was offered a few build slots for 991 and 992. He turned them down!

TBH I doubt we'll buy another Porsche in UK perhaps we'll buy a couple for Dubai I do not know its not good what Porsche has become. My husbands been driving them since 944, 3.2 Carrera and 964 C2 days. Too many shennanigans still going on with OPC dealers for our liking.

The amount of GT3 and GT2 RS that have been in the classifieds at premiums via OPCs over last few years awful.

We tour a lot all over Europe etc. Plan to take them to US next. One of his past 911s.

And a few of our older 911s its a shame we had to sell these beauties. I can not find a pic of our 944 turbos. We had 3 944s in row inc a cab. Covered 300,000 miles in them before moving on to older 911s and newer for dd Boxsters with 200,000 miles fault free miles covered in our two Boxsters. I learned to drive a 911 in the old red 964 passing my advanced test in the 964 C2 - we sold as they became very valuable. Time warp examples.
