993 Autumn Tour - PROPOSED LOCATION CHANGE!!

Just to let you know, that weekend coincides with the Speed Championship round on Sept 20th at Shelsley Walsh, near Worcester. This could preclude us as we may well be entering but it might be something people would like to see on their way home. L

Hi Alan, Nice to see someone trying to organise a trip for fellow Porsche people. We have been looking for a Woty for early this year to no avail either all booked up or no one wants to go anywhere. September is the only woty we have booked this year all things Porsche. So if you are planning anything for August time maybe leave on the Friday for the weekend would be great assuming you dont mind other models attending. Have you concidered just going inside France for a short break ? No more expensive or mileage wise if you only go an hour into France Better roads and less traffic than uk. But as said if other models can attend please let us know if planning anything before September. Nice to see someone trying to do a Woty but you may have to throw it open to a variety of models to get interest. Keep up the good work . Cliff & Tracy.

Hi Tracy and Cliff, I had hoped that the 993 register would seize upon this in the same way that the 997 register do and, in particular, having just bought (well, her ladyship did) a nice 993 we thought it would be nice to see a long line of them out together. I have plenty to do with the 997 register/R15/rebuilding my house(!) so organising a "general" woty is not something I am inclined to do just now! As a side note, we have just been down near Le Mans with R26 and some of R15 for a 5 day tour - and, apart from the dreadful weather, it was a brilliant trip. It's getting a bit late in the year to fix a tour for this year now anyway (tricky to sort hotels etc) so maybe I'll have another bash next year. That said I get the feeling that for many the 993 has become, or soon will be, a bit too precious. PS - There was some talk on here of setting up a "cross model" touring register for those that want to get together and do these sort of events. But, to be honest, that's what we have with our region already - and then there's the thorny issue of who will run/organise it![;)]

Thanks Alan. Please bare us in mind for future trips hopefully this year as 1 Porsche just sits in the garage with no where to go. Unlike previous years when we have had 3 Wotys booked . Would be a great idea for someone to take up the mantle for those of us who like short breaks in our cars with like minded Porsche enthusiasts for different models. Its crossed my mind this year to sell one Porsche as a lack of stuff to do. Tracys Boxster is an evertday car and is also capable of the limited Porsche trips we seem to have this year. Hopefully something will turn up or someone will organise a trip. Regards Cliff.
