Love the black section on the rear bumper between the pipes - think I might get that done to mine... Must give Spraymaster a call.. []ORIGINAL: tscaptain No photo here of it's best angle.........Well, there is now.[]
Having seen the eye watering price required to buy the GTS based 997 Speedster £144100.00 and £10k deposit required up front [] the GTS is looking like the bargain of the entire 997 past and present models included [link=http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/252851/]http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/252851/[/link]ORIGINAL: Black80XSA If you want a new 997 then its a good buy, and makes the last 997 special edition (sport classic) look even more stupid in its pricing.
Looks like a hunchback C4S Cab to me! REALLY ugly IMHO.ORIGINAL: bobfair Details of the speedster are now on the main Porsche web site with the usual slick marketing. I think it is a great looking car but wow its expensive. The Turbo version will probably be over 160k when it arrives which is serious money for a 911. I think we should hold our breath about the next model 911 as it looks like that is going to be very very expensive
I just spec'd up a GTS Cabrio to as close to Speedster spec as possible i.e. ticking as many option boxes as I could and it would run out at £107k which makes the physical panel differences along with the fuchs alloys £37000 worth [:-] but with the GTS you retain the more luxurious power roof and glass back windowORIGINAL: oliver Definitely agree that the GTS is a very attractive package. I spec'd one up on the configurator - manual with PCCBs, etc, etc - and it was just shy of £90k., so no bargain, but makes the silly Sport Classic look very expensive.
A Speedster = 404bhp and costs £144,100 A Super Speedster = 500+ bhp and costs ??? You are right, what a rip off for the normal Speedster!Power for the 911 Speedster comes from the same 3.8-litre motor that was unveiled last week in the 911 Carrera GTS, with 402bhp and 310lb ft. But insiders say Porsche could follow the original 356’s plan by introducing a Super Speedster shortly after this car’s launch; it would probably use the 911 Turbo’s powerplant.
