Thanks you to Muriel Warthmann, Andy Keywood and Ian Chapple at Reading PRG. Well worth a call if you want to restore your Porsche. Many thanks to Ken/Adam at 9e too.

Cheers. Really put this thread up here for our children. And to the naughty one if you ever feel unloved or down with all the crazy things going on in the world including our own lives being turned upside down for last 7 years we did this project for you to show you anything is possible in life and its the difficult periods in our lives which define us. If you fall down get back up, dust yourself off and start again. Love always to all of you. Alls well that ends well. Love, Mum and Dad xxxxx

She's finished and at 9e for next few weeks being shaken down before I take delivery. She looks GT2 ride height hence 9e have been asked to give me back a car that flows with b roads as well as fast a roads and to let me have a road friendly ride height that does not scrape speed bumps. I'd say the quality of the paint finish better than factory and also had her inspected by 9e who confirmed the same. Porsche Special Ops team led by Andy Keywood have too much work on for Porsche GB hence they will not be doing any of these sort of projects for foreseeable future so Minty really is a "one off". I can not thank Muriel, Andy, Ian and their team of 911 ninjas enough for this. Amazing this ultra high skill level remains in UK. To sort out other firms bad workmanship much harder than starting from scratch. They under charged us for this work IMO. Au revoir [:)]

One of the final touches to this build hence glad we’ve been patient. Ken/9e kindly sourced some as new heated folding buckets. Webbing via to mint green. Can’t be many 997s with heated folding buckets as heating was only a cost option on 991 folding buckets which were themselves optional. These are no longer in production and you can’t even buy them from Porsche AG. Very happy indeed get car back end of this month after 15 months. :ROFLMAO:

Covered 1000 miles in Minty since completion. If I could only pick one area of my 997 to update out of all the amazing work by 9e/PCO on powertrain, aero, new paint, interior etc it would have to be the Tractive suspension, RSS rear toe steer kit and GT2 engine and gearbox mounts.

These new Tractive Touring which are state of the art coilovers take away a smidge of road feel, steering feel and the turbo (which has always been a bit of a numb 911 compared to say the older 911s) telegraphs a little less when she is near the limits of traction but genuinely takes any manual 997.1 turbo (or any PASM model like 991/992) from Playstation 1 at launch in 2006 to Playstation 6 in 2022. BUT transformational in terms of murdering UKs wet and leafy b roads the body control is now at levels you'd imagine a world rally car down a bumpy tarmac section. You could offer me any of the modern supercars which I've also had the pleasure of driving as friend own. I'd honestly not swap. That good. Okay I'd kick her out of bed for a CGT or Singer DLS money no object but would I then still be out on cold, dark and wet winter mornings in those for a dawn raid? Brilliant [;)]

As requested Blade. Here is a list of all the OEM parts needed for 997 turbo to 997 GT2 aero.

My project all OEM via 9e and Porsche Central Operations, Reading but if on a budget you can also opt for copy parts from https://nrauto.com/products/porsche-997-gt2-gt2-rs-front-bumper.

The copy parts do need good body shop to work on them a bit to achieve OEM finish. They're nowhere nr OEM quality nor have they been crash tested. One nice thing about copy parts though is you do not need to also re route all the cooling behind front and rear bumpers like on Minty as per original GT2. You'll still need some of the internal bumper parts like grill etc but not the cooling re routing parts.

GT2 front rad assembly different and the way the air is routed both to the intake and exits in rear bumper all need swapping if you do go OEM route which is very expensive. Thats all with a 25% discount.

darren.richardson@porschereading.co.uk in parts at OPC Reading or dan.redpath@porschetonbridge.co.uk OPC Tonbridge will probably give that 25% discount on these OEM parts if you flick that list on to them [;)]

Minty below my inspiration. After an off I have it on very good authority he's been restored and lives in Portugal. This was also 911 HUL Porsche GBs press car in 1993. Used to stare at Minty for hours at my desk in my mid twenties not long out of Uni and poor thinking one day Rodney :)

Took peppermint and spearmint for a winter blast. 2000 miles covered on TracTive Touring thus far and whist this set up's springs are firmer than stock TracTive Minty was not uncomfortable in some pretty awful conditions and ruinous UK b roads. The confidence TracTive inspires on icy, choppy , & muddy UK roads beggars belief. Very happy indeed. If you need new shocks. Go with TracTive and 9e are agents having fitted the most units thus far in UK.
