9th March, Essex Region - 944 Gathering

Chaps, (members and non-members),

My local (well, easiest-to-get-to) region is Essex, and they meet on the second Tuesday of every month. The details are here:

http://www.porscheclubgb.com/r11/location.aspx

I'm thinking of going next Month (9th March), and there may be a couple of other 944 owners going along as well.

If we could have a decent 944 turn-out then it could be a bit of a giggle. (And also be good to see some familiar as well as new faces, and the 996 owners are less likely to sneer at us if we are en masse!)

Who's in? Names below.

1. zcacogp (Oli)

I will be carrying out the 'very unofficial' 944 section foreward reckie tomorrow [:D]

Chuff.

I've just realised how effing far it is from where I live to where this meet is taking place.

And that I will be stuck in rush hour traffic all the way.

And just HOW bad that traffic will be.

And I hate rush hour traffic more than just about anything else on earth.

Hmmm.

Meeting time and place? In a stationary queue of angry cars, somewhere I guess!

Let me think about it. I'm definitely stiff up for it, but the RV time and place will need a bit of thought ...

Just posted that I might come from near High Wycombe.....

We are a very dedicated bunch, and we like any excuse to take an afternoon off an go for a drive. [;)]

Ah a nice gentle drive up the A12, how hard can that be ? [;)]. In all seriousness from first hand experience of that delightful road, it should be pretty clear by the time you need to be on it Oli as the meet starts at eight doesn't it ? Though folk often start gathering a bit earlier than that.

The more the merrier, so Edd/Paul, do come along ...

The Ace is on the other side of town. And driving across town involves ... lots of traffic. And see earlier for my comments about how much I love traffic!

Jon, I'm hoping that I will just clip the tail end of the rush-hour. Hoping ...

Chas,

True, but I'd feel bad if I organised a group trip to the PCGB meet and then woossed out because 'it would be a bit difficult to get to'.

Oli.

I'm going Jon , hopefully I'll get to meet up with a few of the 944 folk again even if no one else . I can tell you the story of my ' visit to Carrera Engineering ' .
I dont think it would be allowed under forum rules TBH [;)]

I'm off down the village pub now to watch the rugby , come on England !

Definitely still up for it. In fact, I was thinking just this morning about the RV point and where would be good. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Oli.

Yep , the golf centre car park [:D] , seriously though I think some of us are coming from different directions and the car park is huge so if we all say went to the far end of the car park , it would be as good a place as any. I'm easy though as the actress said.

Now stop typing get your drinks ready prime whatever T.V you choose
(pub one is good) and watch England win ! ( I hope)

hiya all, amendment to previous post , i will be travelling m11 from redbridge roundabout then follow the chelmsford [a130?] signs, so missing out romford etc, anybody whos coming from east london, we could meet up at redbridge petrol station or the redhouse public house car park [which is just on the left opposite redbridge tube if coming from east london] and make our way to golf club car park as stated by suffolk944 and mas in earlier posts but will be happy to meet where-ever, so awaiting insructions, look forward to meeting other 944ers, see you then, regards jason p

Jason,

Good call. Thanks for that. I'll certainly see you there - pub car park sounds good. Is that on the left if heading out of town?

What sort of time shall we meet? I'll PM you my mobile 'phone number.

Anyone else? There was quite a list ...
