All the 2009 meets schedules are being revised and it is very likely to be the 3rd Saturday of the month in the evening after 6pm. That is my preferred slot and we are in the good book as we don't cause trouble on the roads and we spend well in the cafe (where their income is) so 99% we will get it.

Hi Rob, France trip to Montreuil Sur Mer was excellent and the hotel Hermitage was perfect with secure parking and an excellent top class restaurant. I can see this becoming a regular trip as it is just 70km south of Calais and perfect for a weekend getaway with plenty of driving in the French country side.

Nice one lets hope this goes ahead. Ive never been to the Ace's porsche night before because of work, so this would be much more convinient for me.

Hi all, Good news! This has now been confirmed for every 3rd Saturday evening of the month from 6pm onwards (except July 2009 meet which will be a lunch time BBQ at Ace). Unfortunately this mean we need to move our East London Fatboys meet to another day and I want to take the opportunity to re-evaluate that meet as we have only had the regulars who are mostly not from the East end attend this; it was originally setup for those in the East who found it difficult to attend the Ace and Richmond meet. I like Fatboys and if there isn't much response from the Porsche owners in that areas then we will move it to a mailing list meet, so we can pick a day in any given month or every other month and enjoy the burgers and milkshakes followed by a drive somewhere... All the best

excellent news !! the reason like so many others has been to not attend is work and now i can have the option on a saturday is really good news - well done and a step in the right direction for many im sure . wonder now if there be enougth room [:D]

Hi all, want to bring my 6yr old along for his first club meet as he's keen on dads car and porsches in general and wanted to confirm members from other regions are welcome for the first Saturday nite meeting?? My local region is Essex although I never get to go as can't make week nights. Cheers

ORIGINAL: klodwick Hi David All welcome it's a porsche night not a pcgb night. see you on the 17th
Sorry Karl, Correction: it is both Porsche night and Porsche Club GB night; that is how I had set it up from day one, 3 years ago. Ace Cafe management like to call it, "Porsche Night with PCGB" David, the club region you were allocated was based on your post code but you are not restricted to any one region meet or event. All regional and PCGB events are open to all club members and meets like Ace are open to all Porsche owners. Also, quite a few members had requested this Saturday meet so they could bring their kids along, so your little one will be in good company. See you on the 17th.

David I'll be driving in from Essex too. Leaving Colchester around 4.30- 5pm. I always find it best to go round M25 to South Mimms and then tack across to avoid the traffic. Might be easier on a Saturday though! Contact me if you want to drive in together. Jon

Jon thats incredibly kind of you and its the sort of time we thought about heading there as the wife and i will be bringing our 6yr old. We may even have friends with us that have a 40th anniversary 996 that will make up the "convoy"!!! Wud be great to meet up somewhere as im in Brentwood so cud hook up on your way past brentwood to the m25 (assuming that wud be your intended route). Shall we touch base later in the week?

Not long to go till our first Saturday meet; an update: Alex, Porsche technician, who the Ace regulars know (was at Porsche Centre West London and is now at Porsche Centre Hatfield) will be attending to answer any technical questions you have about your Porsche. He is an enthusiast and has good knowledge of pretty much all models i.e. air and water. Just get hold of me and I'll introduce you to him. Kish

Really wanted to come but I'm afraid its my Mum's 89th birthday and the family will be sitting down to tea and buns. Will be thinking of you all!
