Any Cayman drivers going to Anglesey?

I think it was predicted rain last year but turned out fine?

I'm with Andy, weather there can change quickly but we have been lucky over recent years...

Looking forward to it.

Great video. Just wondered if it was a GoPro and if so how did you mount it on the dash? I'm coming on Saturday and am borrowing a mate's GoPro

Thanks, look forward to seeing folks there.

Matt

Did I hear correctly at the end of the laps....

Mr D: "What do you think?"

Young lady passenger: "I feel sick"

:ROFLMAO:

gopro 4 silver with their own suction mount which is rock solid.
Thanks, just stuck on to the leather dashboard then? I like the angle you get on your video

Most tracks now require a tie wrap to secure cameras mounted on suction pads to something substantial. I mount a camera on the cross piece behind the Cayman seats using a clamp fitting.

You said it for me Mr D --- the report I saw this evening suggested possibly twice that ?

Either way, doing what you can is always fun (and the learning is in the journey !)

Great day at Anglesey. Caymans there in abundance and dare I say the most prolific car on the day. Very impressed with how my R went on the day. Here's a few laps:

I was faster last year in my Spyder than my Gt4 lol

but it's a learning curve, 1st time on track this year and 1st time with the Gt4 and with the lack of fuel only did about 20 laps.

Goto go some to beat a 987.2 Spyder imo.

The sun came out for 3 minutes Friday so stopped and took a pic while on the EVO Triangle.

I was around 4 seconds quicker at best when comparing video times from last year in the 964 and this year in the R, even though I didn't really push the R while adjusting to its different driving style. I also didn't like braking hard because the squeal from the RS29s was horrendous! Need to find a way of quietening them down! [&:]

Had some fantastic passenger laps with Chris in his GT4 when he was really on it later in the day. I kept a sneaky watch on the dash clock..quite a lot of laps were in the 1:40 to 1:45 range.

Just found this video featuring GT4s at Anglesey posted by Mike who was in a silver 996 turbo:

This was my first PCGB track day and I had a great time, the first 20 minute session in the very wet conditions was met with trepidation but even that was good grounding and the cup 2's amazed me, as earlier forum posts and even the wording in the drivers hand book made me think they would be lethal in those conditions, OK it was a very steady pace but even so it gave me a bit more confidence.

My second venture out in the drying conditions was OK until breaking hard into the Hair Pin and the front near side headlight popped out, luckily it didn't drop on to the circuit and the pit lane was fairly near, but it could have been an expensive experience, once in the pits the light was pushed back in and locked in place, on checking the other light we found that wasn't locked in place correctly either.

The remainder of the day in the dry and the car were fantastic, although I never expected to get so much enjoyment from driving around a circuit using a manual box, mind you the driver training day on Friday with Malcolm in one of the circuits Lotus cars was a huge benefit.

Congratulations to Steve and the team .

If you had the front of your car wrapped Steve, it could be that they removed the headlight units and didn't replace them properly.

Good to catch up with you and a few others on here. A great track day with varied driving conditions and it was nice to see many of the cars on the prom at Llandudno on the Sunday.

Jeff

Here's an interesting video for the GT4 boys that I found. A rear facing camera on the green GT4 while at Anglesey:
