Feel free to misquote me, curse me and PM people about me all you want;

Where is this coming from???? more bull... absolute nonsense. I pm'd nobody. Stop trying to wriggle. You have been exposed.

VCAR. If its not updated by tomorrow, I am calling trading standards on your behalf, they delight in this sort of activity.

I hope you realise that by making threats like that you will have dozens of people scrutinising every last thing you do and responding in kind...

I am very glad I posted this link on here otherwise I would have been very disappointed. The bottom line is that if modern classic hadn't posted the VCAR information I could have been completely oblivious to this (although I would have HPi'd before parting with any cash). It should be included in the advert and potential buyers can make the choice whether to pursue or not. I agree the advert should now be amended and reported to ebay and other relevant organisations if not.

@ Eldavo. As an active member of the PCGB community, would you be an advocate for full disclosure of the history of any classic Porsche to any potential buyer, however minor, inconsequential or serious it may be, the buyer should have the full information available to them when deciding to buy a car. OR.. would you condone the practice of concealing potentially important information that would affect the value of a car and the buyers decision to purchase?

If you believe the information to be not so serious, surely you would still recommend the information be made available so the buyer may make his own decision, it is obvious this car is NOT hpi clear however you may interpret it.

Do the right thing and advise your friend to update his advert and let the public know, to make their own decision on how to interpret the negative flashing red marker on the hpi report.

I think that is all im going to contribute to this thread. It is probably the most sensible post I have made in thread, the PCGB will agree with the content of this message.

Then someone mentions "the church" and a fatwa is issued......
Brilliant!
(Only posting this to keep the thread alive in recent postings)

The seller never updated the listing with the HPi information regarding this car being added to the VCAR register in 1994. Makes me wonder how many of the other write offs that this seller has been said to have sold have not been declared to unsuspecting buyers. This seller was vigorously defended by a rather prominent member of this forum who calls him one of his friends and assured that if his friend had a VCAR he would happily amend the title, but this never came to fruition. I wouldn't have thought a PCGB member would associate with a person who conduct their business like that.

Well on a positive note it doesn't look like it's had its alloys overly skimmed to the point of being a death trap..so that's good.

Those aren't the wheels that can crack if machined.

Is he a violent person, is that what you are saying?

This was the point in the thread where the laugh overcame the smile.

I take my hat off to you all. Consumer advice (the importance of HPI checking), religion, more consumer advice (where not to shop for cars), family relations (mums), music (organ playing) and now we're lining up a cage fight! Can this be the main feature of the 2016 Rutland water meet up?

Shame the car seems past it though.

Best...thread....ever! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
