Anyone waiting for a GTS Allocation ?

Fantastic! About time Schuey. ;)
Car looks beautiful.
Yep, I get the wind noise too just behind my ear. Its not there all the time and quiet enough you can drowned it out with the engine or music.

Still keeping my fingers crossed but my only issue is a lose USB panel in the armrest.
I've had the PCM reboot randomly a few times and getting Spotify to play sometimes needs me to disconnect and reconnect on my phone.
But so far, all good.
You'd think most of the common issues with the 992 should be ironed out by now anyway so enjoy the car!

Hey schuey - looks amazing.
is the noise a whistling wind noise from the drivers side?
if so, all my 992s have done that inc an early cabriolet and the latest GTS.
found some posts online ages ago where people investigated with little bits of tape and found the exact spot that caused it… :)

Hey Jackdog,

Thanks very much. ??

Yes, exactly that, a whistling noise from the driver side. Ok then, I won't worry too much if it's a pretty common thing on 992s, must be one of those rare free of charge options that Porsche throws in but no one wants. ??

Loving the car though and need any excuse to get out on a drive, in fact feel like going for a cheeky one now!

Hey Bluetonic,

Thanks you. And yes, about time indeed! But like you and others had said, it was worth the wait, but my God was the wait painful. A relief that I finally have it now. ??

Thanks for confirming about the wind noise also, you'd think with all the wind tunnel work they'd have sorted this. But given it's seems to be a standard feature across the 992, I won't let in bother me and as you say, exhaust or music can cover it. Will investigate online if there are any quick fix DIY solutions.

Yes, I had Apple Car play skip my music a few times like old CD players used to, then it disconnected and connected by itself, guess it's just getting used to my phone or doing some updates in the background as I got a couple of random messages saying maps updated and something else I can't remember.

But man, I love it already and what a car. I can see why these are so much in demand and we're lucky peeps to own something like this. ????

Quick question for you folks as I'm getting used to the car. Is it normal for the accelerator/acceleration to feel quite spikey in Sports mode when at low revs in traffic? Slight dab and the car wants to pounce!!

Yeah Schuey, I think this is a feature (!) of the uplifted BHP in the GTS over the S, as I think the mapping is changed and turbo boost is increased.
I am not a fan of the kangaroo effect :) the harder suspension, the spikey throttle and an overweight driver (me!) makes for a bouncy combo! lol

Not quite the same as I'm manual but a combination of a very sensitive 1st gear, sport mode, stiffer suspension and UK roads means I shift to 2nd as soon as possible.

Thanks gentlemen, seems pretty normal then and will perhaps stick to normal mode in traffic scenarios with exhaust button on if in the mood.

Evening all,

I eventually placed my deposit for a new GTS at the beginning of May with the dealership I have purchased the last few vehicles from. I am still waiting for an estimate of the delivery time. Anyone in a similar position and had any indication of delivery?

Stewart

Good question- it will depend on when your dealer has allocated slots. Plan for around a year……

Mine is due before Christmas and will have been 15-18 months.

Hope that helps.

Hello

That seemed to be the initial indication from my dealer, but they couldn’t guarantee anything when I placed the order.
It’s good to know that’s around that time scale as I was aiming for that when I placed my deposit.

Thanks

My turn with a question - I’ve got nose lift specified on my GTS. On the Panamera the suspension remains high when the ignition is turned off. This is great for washing inside the wheel arch (sad, I know), does nose lift on the 992 remain "high” when the ignition is switched off? Thanks Nigel

Yes it remains in the raised position until either you a) lower it manually or b) go over 20mph I think

Also its handy as you can save locations for a 'lift' so for example as I approach my drive and as long as I'm under 20mph then it will automatically raise itself

Thanks Lem, yes I’d read about the locations I‘ll be needing those as my employer has fitted a whole row of speed ramps across the front of the office. Anyone who gets to work early has the option to slalom them! The question was really based around the weekly shop where the supermarket has high kerbs and we were wondering if the splitter would sink onto the kerb when we walk away from the car. Thanks Nigel.

Front Axle Lift is brilliant, used it many times and feel it has saved my front lip, including on my Road-Trip to Germany with a friend and his 718 GT4 this weekend. We drove to Stuttgart via Nurburgring and did the Porsche Museum at Zuffenhausen on Saturday and then the Mercedes Museum on Sunday. Got back early hours of this morning and covered circa 1500 miles in total. My car was run in before we went as per the guidance and so I opened it up on the Autobahn, hit 172mph with ease, before I had to lift off due to cars ahead. Didn't get many opportunities because Autobahn was quite busy on the weekend. Here are some pics you might like:

Colour….. Agate grey. Would have loved Volcano grey to match the Macan, thought about pts but decided to spend our budget on other toys. I’ll follow with the obligatory pics when they are showing on the app. Thanks Nigel.

Nigel,

Good choice, my car is ordered in Agate grey too. Will be great to see the pictures when it arrives.
