I plan to come along in a spectator capacity, should be a great experience to watch. Not sure I'm brave enough to actually hit the track....yet !!

Chris, if you fancy dipping your toe in the water; come and have a chat with me on the 20th. We are holding a track novice induction day, see R4 forum for all the details. Sounds to me like you are the target drivers we are aimed at.
997 register, please accept my appology, I am not trying to poach your members; just to encourage them that they may be at future events with confidence.

I will do that, thank you ..
I had a drive out to the track in Blyton today, The sun was out and the roads dry with no salt !! The road to get there is one I have driven from passing my test on a weekly basis up to about 5 years ago. There is an S bend that I have tested my array of cars on to see how quick I can get through it. I have been yearning to test my Porsche and I'm sad to say I chickened out well before the car even felt like letting go ! . All my others I've been on the limit with. Once we've had a few more miles together and I've learned to drive her better we shall return for another test ! Although I was 15 mph faster round it than anything else that has gone before so new record
Back to Blyton!! Take care everyone on the approach to the track, the roads a bit rough!!. The gates were open and I was going to have a chat with someone but the place was deserted. I think secretly wanted to meet a friendly person who was going to say ohhh go on then take your car round a few times ...
Looking forward to the day though even if I keep mine in the car park !

If anyone wants any advice about driving around Blyton park, the facilities, routes to the circuit, you can contact me via the site. I instruct regularly at Blyton and have a couple of thousand laps under my belt, with another session this week, should add over another 100 laps. The worst thing at Blyton park is the taxiway access to the clubhouse and car park. It is strewn with large pot holes and concrete debris, so slow down and don't follow too close. This is an old WW2 bomber airfield, some of the taxiways havn't been touched since.

Can't get to this but I have driven at blyton in a 2.2 Ltr Honda engined Rover Coupe. [:-]
Do beware of the entrance tracks as said as they are very lumpy.
The track itself is a fair test of skill although most of our running was damp or very wet.
Not a big power circuit but treated with respect in a Porsche I would imagine it will help you understand the performance and handling of your cars more.

From my understanding, the day is being ran as a social event as much as a trackday- in fact more of a track experience day where Porsche owners can enjoy like minded owners using their cars as intended in a safe environment.
With it being the smaller technical circuit there is less chance of a high speed 'off' and more chances of continuous smiles throughout the day with the roar of the flat 6- and the odd V8...[]
I believe that there are still some place left if anyone is interested.

Chris, if you're still only spectating I wouldn't get there that early. There is a sign on for drivers, then a briefing at 09.00. No one will be on the track until 09.30.
Plenty of time for the bacon[]

Ohh I see, Thanks Mark.
I will be taking the scenic and rather twisty long roads to Blyton too then in that case.
I'm still in the early stages of driving again after a brain tumour op so watching is best I think just now

a lie in, bacon rolls, a scenic drive and watching everyone shred a set of tyres, sounds like a perfect day to me[][]
