April 20th Trackday and Lincs weekender

Hi all
Wishing all those attending a safe and great day out - I'd like to have come but I'm joining Peter and the 991 Register as an 997 interloper on the Reading/Chiltern run on that Saturday.
As consolation have booked myself on the Club track day at Goodwood the following Tuesday the 23rd-
May all your shiny things return the same shape[:)]
Tony

AAAAAARRRRRHHHH.

.Child care problems. OK I know its not your usual Track day discussion points, but their mum is working on saturday and the child minder has just dropped out. AAAAAARRRRRHHHH.

Frantically calling around now to make alternate arrangements, but if no luck, what's this place like?
Are there facilities ... Kid friendly?

All three will happily read and are really into cars (which makes Dad immensely proud ;) .. But is it just inappropriate?
Thanks, Peter

I've just been emailed the information for the day, I can't see any disclaimer saying that children are not allowed or have to be a certain age- apart from they have to be 16 to go in the cars..
I would have thought that if they are into their cars (like their Dad) they would probably have quite a nice couple of hours[:)]
It is a friendly circuit as they describe...

sign on from 7.30!!!! [:(]

Hi Gary

did see the early start!

If you haven't driven the circuit before I would say its just about the safest you can get, loads of run off and absolutely nothing to hit if you do![:D]

See you there
Cheers
Graeme (the local 993 'interloper')

Lids loaded in the car ready for the early start tomorrow morning [:'(]

See you guys there....[:D]

Well I would like to say a big thankyou to TIPEC and the 997 Register for organising "summer" today. What a brilliant day we all had at Blyton Park in Sunny Lincolnshire. As usual for any Porsche meeting, the atmosphere was great and we were made to feel very comfortable, nice to see no one suffered any indignity on the track. Gary it was nice to finally put a face to the name, you would always be welcome to come along to any R4 event.

Gavin.

I second that Gavin :)
Best day of the year so far and although I only watched all you guys have a brilliant time on the track, It was great to meet some really nice enthusiasts.
It's the first track day I have ever been too and I was very impressed how sensible everyone was out there, and how well organised it was.
Looking forward to another :)

Chris

Absolutely agree thanks to Sean & TIPEC, the staff at Blyton and everyone involved for a top day out.[8D]

Anyone considering R4s upcoming Blyton event should make the booking now, you'll love it, and take the opportunity for some tuition too. Gavin's expert knowledge made a reall difference to my driving, lap times and tyre wear after just a few laps of advice. Many thanks for your time today Gavin.

Great to meet up everyone yesterday [:)]
Gavin, indeed thank you for the kind offer and good to be able to put the name to the face...[:D]
Glad to see the 997 weather gods have stayed onside

Blyton somewhat got me hooked after the extra bit of tuition I had (at no cost) I managed to get a really good flow and the change of circuit after lunch, whilst I didn't like to start with - I got a better flow and really enjoyed it.[8D][8D]
I can fully understand though that for a novice event the full circuit is better layout as it allows the additional places to overtake, following a novice down the home side is quite frustrating but I completely accepted that aspect of the day[:)]

The track was very friendly with loads of run off and even if it went really bad, you just go rabbit hunting across the open fields!!
There was only one spinner yesterday- right in front of the crowds and the car was completely undamaged...... the drivers ego not quite so [;)] (not a 997)

Refreshments were a plenty and the food was excellent and reasonably priced - it was also open all day, i've been some places where it closes after lunch!!

I have to say that I felt I learned a hell of a lot yesterday, really got to get close to the grip in a safe environment and at no risk to anyone or the car.
Even for me with the car being different to what I've had for the past 15year, it was superb.
The cost I felt was brilliant value for money and I was surprised that not more people took up the offer, whilst the track isn't Silverstone or the likes and is certainly flat, it offers some great potential for the driver to learn and have some fun.
Another great thing about the day and venue is the owner, he stood around chatting with the drivers and discussing some of the amazing machinery he's had the pleasure to see there, A true brit and a gentleman, someone who deserves it after the hard work he's put into the venue.

I guess it was being as it's was my first trackday in the blue one, so I did purchase the photos, care of Xtreme sports photography [;)]

A heads up - Lincs(R4) region of PCGB is running another Novice event there on 31st May, and if I were not on the South of France trip (and it being a Porsche only event) then I'd certainly of considered killing some more dinosaurs to attend [:D]

Ok here you go, feel free to rip my "lines" off[:D][:D]

Thanks to Gary for the loan of the GoPro, set mine up perfectly the night before.....and left it on all night[][:'(][][]

Mark
Looks like you were having great fun, which was the complete point of the day [:)]
The instructor looks to of shown you a different line to the one I was shown- which from the video looks a very good one...

Sadly my video efforts didn't work out so well, I was trying to get a different point of view and must have missed a setting I should of done [&o]- thus at points it washes out, however I think one of the reasons I change car is plain to hear [;)]
