April 28th 2019 R7 Visit to McLaren Leeds
- Thread starter tjb
- Start date
This event is proving to be very popular and has evolved since it was announced. Bacon or vegan butties, tea/coffee are being provided by McLaren and a drive to MacKenzies Smoke House near Blubberhouses for lunch has been added. Numbers for food are required in advance. Please see the list on page 5 to see what requirements I have recorded.
A limit of 100 people for McLaren and 50 for lunch at MacKenzies Smoke House has had to be applied and we’re close to them as of 29 March. Applications for the visit and amendments to requirements for food will close at midnight on 12th April 2019.
The upstairs area at MacKenzies, which can accommodate 50 diners has been reserved. I’ve negotiated a deal for a two course lunch £17.95 per head and it is essential that members pre-order either by stating their requirements on the forum or by emailing me at rogergoode47@gmail.com . The R7 menu can be view here.
It would be appreciated, given that you’ll enjoy tea/coffee and a butty courtesy of McLaren if you could make a donation you're happy with, for a good cause. If you can stretch to £2 a head that would be greatly appreciated but this is voluntary and you can of course give what you like. 50% of the money collected will be donated by R7 equally to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Lymphoma Trust and 50% will be given to McLaren to donate to a charity of their choice. We hope to beat the £134 collected at a recent supercar club visit. Let’s put PCGB in pole position. Donations will be collected by a bucket at McLaren.
1x fish pie for Karen
1x roast beef for myself
1 x brulee
1 x sticky toffee pudding
Thanks for organising it all sounds great.

Forgive me but I don’t know whom I’m communicating with. Please tell me the names of the two.
i’m sorry To have to tell you that the last places available for the McLaren visit were taken at The Smiths Arms Club night. Unfortunately the forum thread is misleading because due to changes made to the website I cannot currently update the list. It is possible that someone may drop out prior to the 28th so I will happily put you at the head of a reserve list and I will tell you if spaces become available. I am sorry to disappoint you.
IF ANYONE WHO HAS PREVIOUSLY STATED THEIR INTENTION TO ATTEND CANNOT NOW DO SO PLEASE TELL ME SO THAT OTHERS CAN TAKE TAKE YOUR PLACE.
THANK YOU
Roger
P.S. Anyone reading this who has not requested lunch but now wishes to partake please tell me ASAP as the few remaining places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Food will also be available in the public café/restaurant if the limit of 50 is exceeded. There’s no limit to the number doing the 30 mile drive.
