I guess the car is SOR and the owner wants to get out without any loss as the diff is about right for 1st year tax and OPC margin. It is expensive now against some Weissach cars with low miles and the 18 ways will also put some off.

I don't think any of the Porsche Centre cars are anything other than SOR as 2 sellers I knew back in the summer couldn't get a cash bid from any Porsche Centre which says an awful lot about supply v demand

The thing is no one wants to pay overs these days, 99% people are done with it, the demand is there as you cannot get a slot on these cars still.

Porsche will ALWAYS bid on a car, just maybe not at the price the seller wants to hear :). ie £20k below list now.

To sell now before this side of spring they need to be £10k below list. OPC know this hence the daft low offers and thus hence the cars SOR.

I went to buy a car last week my bid on my part ex was insulting I thought, but you just say no thanks and walk away., it's quite easy.

I would have a stripper none WP comfort seat car at list to spec myself, my specs £130k on the nose. the cheapest car for sale at an OPC is £148l so we are a long way off what I want to pay for one ie £10k under list so £120k. so £28k gap still ! no thanks.

Agreed on your comment refs the overs these days but I know of 2 people recently being offered their own build slots totally out of the blue and I even had the offer of a brand new unregistered example which is currently on offer to anyone at list price today https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB...model=718&category=718-spyder-rs&order=newest

As production is rocking on for another year you never know you might get that call out of the blue too

not sure they will build them As long as people think.
rumours are from now till spring 25. But you cannot get a slot for one, only pre speced ones.
6 months of poor weather won’t help values.

Not true! I was offered a build slot at the end of August to my spec by mid-October. I had no purchase history with the PC apart from having my car serviced there twice. I left a deposit but on reflection decided that it wasn't the car for me so got the deposit back.

I know of 2 similar offers and for brand new cars to spec and both these offers were turned down also

In the meantime this £164221 excl new car registration tax etc is being flipped under 2 months old for just over original list £169,990 today which I would imagine is negotiable as the Budget From Hell deadline approaches 30/10/24

I'm sure any OPCs with stock will want to deal to clear stock and finance carry costs...

Else open topped cars will be around until spring

Porsche Centres are up to their armpits in Taycans amongst others so the SRS is just another slow trading asset.

The issue with high price GT/Spyder/RS version 718s is that there is a perceived maximum value that is lower than the 992 models.

This is compounded by the additional cost of “required” options together with higher production volumes to chase Porsche AG profits, and one just has to get one’s head around the reality that you are going to have higher depreciation buying these at list under normal circumstances, never mind currently depressed demand.

Anyway back to driving these cars, well when mine arrives.

PS, see post on Osnabrück closure

This delivery mileage August 2024 example has found a place at a Porsche Specialist so maybe the supplying dealing didn't want it back at any price!
